Chapter 6:
-

Erin's POV
I open my eyes sleepily And stretch out my arms, a stab of pain pierces my stomach and I remember what Ash told me; 2 of my ribs were broken. I look around to see Cash walking slowly over to me,
"Hey." I say, he smiles a little and says,
"Finally the little princess is awake."
"Oh stop! I'm no princess, and I'm not little!" I protest and pretend to punch him in the arm. I see Christian and Ash talking in the hallway and then come over to talk to me. My brother hugs me and then stands back and looks at me. I honestly don't think I look to good, my sweatshirt was taken off and I only have on my black tank top and black skinny jeans. My tank top is rolled up a little bit to reveal a bandage around my ribs. I sat up a little and winced in pain,
"How long will it be before I can get up and walk around?" I ask.
"Well Logan was the one who fixed you up and he said you can if the pain isn't to bad but you have to be extremely careful." Axel says from the corner where he has a glass of water in his hand.
"You probably won't be up for going to the show tomorrow so I'll stay back with you Erin." Crim comments glumly from the other corner where she stopped silently strumming her electric guitar.
"But what about the show? They need you!" I exclaim.
"They can handle it right?" She looks at Ash and Christian who have wide eyes, "right? I can miss one show for a night?" She asks again as she grits her teeth staring straight into Ash's eyes. Ash quickly says,
"Yeah yeah, we'll be fine." He elbows Christian in the ribs and he grins while wincing in pain and nods. Axel and Cash look between Ash who has a smile plastered on his face and Crim who grits her teeth and has a small smile. When things had gone beyond sufficiently awkward a man that I recognized as the tour manager popped his head in the room and said,
"Guys, we're here. Sound check time oh and Erin hope you feel better." He winks at me and the guys head out, they pat me on the back and I nod. Crim stays behind since she isn't performing in the show,
"What was that all about?" I ask when they had left and Crim came over a sat next to my limp body.
"Nothing, the main thing is I'll stay with you until your better ok? We're in this together, I'm not leaving your side again like I did in high school." I nod and then another thought hits me,
"What about the rest of my education?" She shrugged and replied,
"I dropped out in beginning of senior and you know Ash dropped out in middle of sophomore year. You'll learn things that you will find more important rather than math and science. It all works out." She shrugged and cracked a small smile but soon it turned into a dull frown.
"Are you ok Crim? You've seemed down recently." I say quietly. She takes a deep breath and plunges into a small statement like answer,
"I'm fine, just worried about you and other things." I nod slightly but am not satisfied.
"Hey can you go get my guitar? There's something I want to work on." I say, she gets up and a minute later she hands me my guitar and I sit up a little more and begin to play a few of the band's song that I learned by ear. After a minute Crim gets up and walks into the hallway, I watch her go to the door of Logan's room and knock on it. She disappears inside but a few minutes later they both come out and join me.
"Hey, how are you doing Erin?" He asks me and I shrug,
"Better than before. Thanks by the way, for fixing me up." I say shyly with a smile. He brushes it off as no big deal but I can tell he's pleased. Crim walks over to her electric and plugs it into the amp and continues to play softly. Logan sits next to me on the couch and pulls out an old and worn brown leather notebook, the pages are torn and burnt. It looks like the book has been through a lot.
"Hey uh...I was wondering if you could help me make a tune for these lyrics." He opened the notebook and flipped through pages and pages of words until he found what he was looking for he handed me the book and I pointed to a particularly old page that had water and food stains on it. I read the lyrics in my head,

'I never saw the sun until the day it faded completely
A world where I was never really there kept me hostage
With paper swords and steel words I fell apart
No one saw me cause I was alone
Oh I was alone, feeling the weight of the world
No one to revive me of my pain I was a prisoner to your hatred and strength
You don't have to beat me up cause i've already done that job to myself.'
