Chapter 1: The day

I remember this one day, I was younger. Maybe between ages 3-5. Riding with mom through town to meet up with dad.

"Mommy, why do I have to go?"

"Because it's the law and I can get in trouble if you don't go."

As we pull up I noticed he wasn't there. The guy I have to call a dad, not there to get me. Finally 20 minutes later he shows up.

"Hey babygirl sorry I'm late,"

Oh wait! Here comes one of his lame excuses.

"I got stuck in traffic because of a crash."

Such a liar, even I can lie better than him.

"It's ok Jason, and Kiara you better behave."

"You know I always do, I love you mommy."

"I love you too, don't ruin this again Jason."

"I won't Jessica, it's okay."

See back then I was shy and didn't want to do anything. I stayed with my dad whenever I had to. I never wanted to go. He was never there, he'd always leave and go party. This day though was special, he actually stayed with me. I was a quiet kid around strangers. 

I remember watching him play a game then his big hand cover my face because of something bad on the screen. After the game I fell asleep watching IT. I got woke up, the dude my dad was staying with was deaf. He threatened to throw me outside because I was sleeping. My dad got into an argument with him. When my mom got there to get me I remember the exact words I told her.

"Mommy I don't want to be there unless Orion or Olivia is there."

Orion and Olivia were my half brother and sister, same dad, all different moms. This was the day my life changed completely. After than it was a couple years before I saw him again. I was too scared, when I did i made sure both Olivia and Orion were there. I knew they'd either keep me away from the grown ups or keep the grown ups away from me. Never let him come near me for over a month. 

Not once have I wanted to talk to or have talked to a deaf guy again.
