~Logan's P.O.V.~

It was the end of my sophomore year, I was guiding the freshman on the tour of Thomas Nelson with my buddy Matt Upson. He was graduating that year so we thought it'd be final year for him being in JROTC with me. We were debating on whether or not to wear our ABUs that day but we chose just to wear our dress blues. We were behind the incoming freshman media center when I saw her. She was beautiful and she kept looking over at us. At first i thought that she was looking at Matt because who could blame her, he was a ladies man. I nudged him.

"Hey. See that girl?" He smiled.

"Yeah, I see her alright."

"I think she's looking at you." But he just gave me the weirdest look.

"Dude, she's not staring at me." Took me a second to realize what he meant. That beautiful girl was staring not at him, but at me.

At that point, the tour began and everyone began walking down the freshman hallway. So Matt and I followed them. We stood behind them at parade rest when we weren't moving and when we were, we were in step with each other and we would do coloum lefts around the corners just to make it stand out more. She kept looking back at us and I guess she was intrigued. I really didn't know. We came to the senior hall and her mom who was standing beside her nudged her and whispered something and then looked my way, right at me and the girl just blushed. That summer I wouldn't stop thinking about her.

The first day of school came and because Colonel and Sergeant were having trouble getting the JROTC room up and running again, so we had class in the cafeteria. I'm standing there with my friends and one of them was named Evan. I didn't know it, but he was her boyfriend. I was looking at all the freshman because we were evaluating them that day like we always do with freshman, when I saw her again. I looked at Evan.

"Dude, see her?" He smiled.

"Well, yeah!"

"Dude, she's beautiful." He just looked at me.

"That's my girl." I was in a funk for the rest of the day after that. her and I started talking and sure enough, he was her boyfriend. Every chance we got we would spend it together. Even with her boyfriend sitting right there. One day she told me how he was with her, always making her do things, pressuring her into them, making her feel like crap. I didn't believe it at first because that's the first thing girls say when something bad comes up. I found out we had a lot in common. I asked for her number and surprisingly she gave it to me.

"You can only call it though because I'm grounded and can't text."

"Okay, that's fine." She was so perfect. She didn't need makeup, she didn't need to try and dress good. She was just so perfect. When we got back to Thomas Nelson Evan kissed her on the cheek and she walked away. I ran up next to her and walked with her. When she saw me she smiled. Her smile lit me up.

"Can I have a hug?" Did she really just ask me that?! I was not expecting this.

"Sure." Did that sound okay? I think so because her eyes lit up with excitement. I gave her a hug. She hugged me back. She felt like an angle in my arms. I never wanted to let her go. I wanted to kiss her, but she caught on, blushed then got on her bus.

I was so happy, I couldn't wait until I got home. Then I was home and I called her.

"Hello?"

"Hey beautiful!" Her voice is so sweet.

"What's up?"

"I have something very important to tell you." I couldn't wait to tell her this.
