You walk down the hallway, taking time to admire each part of it, partially because it looks much better than it did on TV, and also to avoid contact with Alois.
You walk with Alois in silence, trying to keep your distance from him. He appears to be deep in thought.
What could he possibly be thinking about? You can't help but wonder.
Alois never seemed to worry about much. He always seemed to know what to do. Acted on impulse rather than logic.
Or maybe he never thought about bad outcomes.
Or he never even considered them.
Just tried to enjoy life while it lasted.
You can't really tell with people like Alois.
"Alois?" You ask quietly.
"Oh, uh yes?" He takes a moment to respond.
"Are you okay?"
It's a pretty awful question. He'll probably just say he's fine anyway.
Alois doesn't respond.
He stands still. The perspective of Alois Trancy.
I am not okay.
I have not been okay since....
I hardly remember.
But the trouble is,
Do I tell Sam?
Will it make them trust me even less?
They know about my past. They know why I am the way I am.
There's not point in distancing myself from them. Or putting up an act.
I let my guard down a little.
I sigh.
"No."
I don't bother to elaborate.
They accept my response. They don't ask for an explanation.
I walk just a little bit closer to them.
The only sound are the echoes of our footsteps.

Our Unhappy Ending (Alois Trancy x Reader)
FanfictionYou can give Alois Trancy a happy ending. Prevent his death. But not if you fall in love with him first. My first 'x reader' fanfiction. This story is old, and rather cringeworthy in my eyes. I'll keep it up for now, since people seem to like it.
