Earlier that day
Stevie sat at the kitchen table with her cup of tea, she was watching Sara drawing with her crayons and trying to find any distraction to get her mind off Lindsey for 5 minutes. All that seemed to work was talking to her daughter, but since Sara was engrossed in colouring in a large Cinderella picture, Stevie was left to battle her own mind by herself. It's been a few days, why hasn't he called? He seemed pretty enthusiastic about meeting up again. Damn it Stevie you should have just made plans while you were there in the car. But that would seem too desperate.... Jesus Christ you're married, you have a child, this isn't senior high where you wait by the phone every minute of the day, waiting for him to call. Mind you, if this was senior high again I wouldn't be waiting, he was all over me back then. she smirked to herself, then had to shake away the flood of memories that came back to her of their early days as a couple.
Her daughters happy shrieks brought her out of her thoughts once again.
"Mama it's cindawella!" Stevie chuckled at her mispronunciation and dotted over her daughters colouring in for a few more minutes until Sara lost interest and moved on to her building blocks. Stevie was once again left in her head. Eventually she gave in and picked up the phone, realising she didn't even know his number anymore she got out the phone book from under the kitchen bench and searched up B for Buckingham, surprisingly enough there were more Lindsey Buckinghams in LA than she thought. She did a random pick and dialled, relieved when she heard his voice through the phone. She made plans to meet with him the next day and was definitely happy that she was going to see him again. She looked back over to her daughter, arranging her dolls to make a little tea party, Stevie chuckled to herself, enchanted with watching her daughter play. She really is so precious, she seems lonely though. I should talk to Don about having another baby, she needs a friend and someone to muck around with. I doubt he'd even agree to it though, she wasn't even that thrilled when I told him about Sara, but he's a good dad, he might even want a boy. She suddenly got pulled out of her train of thought, she did the math quickly in her head and realised it had been almost 8 weeks since her last period.
She quickly put Sara into her playpen to make sure she didn't run anywhere while she was preoccupied and then raced upstairs. She fiddled through all the bathroom cupboards until she found the pregnancy test she had from when she had a false alarm a few months earlier. After following the instructions carefully she waited impatiently on her bed, fiddling with her nails for the test to give her a result. I shouldn't be too excited, I mean, I haven't even had any morning sickness, it was awful with Sara. She cringed at the memory of the hours she spent hugging the toilet bowl. It's probably a false alarm like last time. Even while thinking this she couldn't help but day dream about having another tiny baby in the house. It might even pull Don out of the studio a bit. She continued to fantasise until she realised that ten minutes was well and truly up so she walked back into the bathroom and took a look at the stick on the edge of the sink.
