She bends with the wind, she breaks like a twig,
But she knows mommy and daddy need her to be a better kid,
So she says okay even if her insides are numb,
And ever since then, she's had no fun.

But who cares anyway?
As long as she can stand up ten feet taller,
Even though inside she may have gotten a bit smaller
Put a smile on her face,
Vows to herself she'll do better next phase.

Who cares anyway?
When her lies smoke through her teeth,
So tired is she, she's forgotten to breathe,
But she laughs and says she's okay,
People believe her and she pretends away.

Who cares anyway?
When coming first is all she desires,
And all the champions are the people others admire,
When she looks at her life and sighs,
Looks to God and hopes for a reply.

Who cares anyway?
When all she is is a whisper in the wind,
But all she does is gun for the win,
Asks herself, have I done my best today?
And if she hasn't she'll say, what a disappointment you are, please go away.

Who cares anyway?
Will she ever be good enough?
She keeps her standards high and her reprimands sharp,
Tip toes on the line of insanity,
Smiles and pretends everyone's happy.

Who cares anyway?
When she doesn't love herself at all,
Tries and tries to erase her flaws,
And the word sorry floats off her tongue,
An apology for her existence to each and every one.

Who cares anyway?
If she stumbles, if she falls,
When no one even sees it at all?
Never mind if she's depressed and upset,
It'll all be alright once she's perfect.
