Damn I really should have planned this out better. How did I allow myself to move to another continent without even finding a place to stay? Oh well, it’s too late to think about that now. Just as I was about to start walking, I felt my phone vibrate.

“Hello?” I answered.

“Finally you answer Alexis. It really wouldn’t have hurt you to call us as soon as you made it to London.” My brother practically yelled at me then let out a sigh of relief.

“Sorry Ryan. I forgot to turn my phone on until five minutes ago.” I apologized trying to calm him down before he began to yell at me again.

“Sorry isn’t going to cut it. We were all worried sick about you. Especially after last time when…”

“What happened last time doesn’t matter anymore Ryan.” I cut him off. “Im fine. Tell mom and dad that im perfectly fine. I have to go. I will call you back later.” I ended the conversation there and put my phone back into my pocket.

I need to quickly find a place to live before I officially become a homeless person but until then I guess I could stay at a motel. Right as I was about to continue walking, my luggage got stuck on a pole. It seems as though luck is on my side. On the pole there’s a sign that’s says someone’s looking for a roommate. It says the address and the time for when I can come by and see the place, which luckly is going to be in half an hour, but the names are a bit smeared; probably from the rain. It appears to say Al-something and Cas-something. Sounds like a pair of girls. I might as well check it out; I have nothing to lose. I took the down the flyer and placed it in my pocket then called over a cab to take me to this location which only took 10 minutes to get to.

When I reached the door, I rang the doorbell. A cute boy with blonde hair and blue eyes opened the door.

“Hi.” He greeted me.

“Hi. Im here because I found this flyer. It says someone’s looking for a roommate.” I said to him as I took out the paper I found.

“Oh alright. Come on in.” He led me in and when we reached what seemed to be the living room there was another boy on the couch. This boy was tall, had light brown eyes, and had brown hair with a small black patch in the front. When he saw us come in he stood up and fixed his hair then a large and warm smile came on his face.

“Hey. Who’s this?” he asked.

“Oh, I’m sorry. I just noticed I didn’t even introduce myself. I’m Caspar Lee and this is my roommate Alfie Deyes.”  Said the blond boy who opened the door for me.

“Hi I’m Alexis. I just moved here from the California.”

“Oh wow that’s so cool. I’ve been there once. Anaheim to be specific. It was for vidcon.” Alfie said to me with an excited expression on his face.

“That’s cool. Im from LA.”

“Sweet. Well do you wanna look around. Over there would be your room.” Caspar pointed to a room down the hall.

“Oh you’re here because of the available room ad we placed out? We’ve been lookin for a roommate for a while now but no one ever even comes to look at the room.” Alfie tells me as he walked closer to me.

“Well I came because I saw the flyer but I thought you were girls. The names were smeared and all I saw was Al and Cas. So I figured it was Ally and Cassandra or something.” I explained and let out a nervous laugh. This caused them to laugh. I’m glad they did because it made it a whole lot less awkward.

“That’s understandable. Maybe that’s why people never show up, because our flyers are smudged from the rain.” Caspar replied. “Alfie and I talked it over a long time ago and we don’t mind having a girl roommate. So if you’re cool with it and like the room, you’re more than welcome to stay. We’ll split rent evenly into three. So what do you say?” he asked me.
