Wait For You/Been That Way Pt. 2

If there was a sight Ty dreaded seeing, Kehlani's stiff, worn-out body had to be it. At first, he couldn't find the strength to cone closer to her, but her reassuring smile had given it to him.

"Hey," she whispered.

"I'm so so-"

Kehlani shushed him. "I know you didn't mean it. You we're just angry, I understand. But, right now..."

"What?" Ty prayed for the best, but he had a feeling this would be the worst.

"I think we should wait a while, Ty. I'm not saying I don't love you because I do, with all of my heart, but I think we just need some time apart."

It took Ty a few minutes to think of a response. Hell, he didn't know what to say.

He was at a loss of words.

"Baby, say something," Kehlani cried.

Still, he said nothing. He never thought it would come to this.

"So, this means no more tour dates?" He asked.

She smiled again. "I won't be as available as I've been. Who knows? Maybe you and Kaylinn Tran could rekindle the flame you once had."

Ty looked at Kehlani like she had two heads. "Fuck that!" He exclaimed. "I'm waiting for you for a reason!"

They both shared a much-needed laugh, but Ty still couldn't believe Kehlani is calling it quits.

"I love you, Lani. I didn't wanna lose you, but I guess things happen, right?"

"Baby," she said, taking his hand, "you haven't lost me. I never left."

Ty bit his lip to keep from crying. "I wanna kiss you so bad right now."

"What are you waiting for?"

With that, Ty kissed her with a passion they've never felt before. As their tongues dominated one another, Ty gently caressed her face. Right then, he missed her and he hadn't even left yet.

"Alright," Kehlani broke the kiss. "Now, get outta here before you and your lips make me change my mind."

"My lips ain't the only thing that's mind-changing."

"Boy, bye!"

Dre walked into Kehlani's hospital room like a madman. His breathing was hard, he was worried- he was just out of it.

"Baby, are you okay?"

Kehlani just stared at him. She looked like she was on the verge of crying.

"Come here, Dre," she mumbled.

Dre leaned closer to her and attempted to sneak a kiss on her cheek, but was appalled when she slapped the shit out of him. The sting of the hit made his ears ring; he knew he deserved that, but what Kehlani didn't know... well, you know the rest.

"What happened to you, Dre?" She cried. "This isn't the man I fell in love with, and I'm so tired of saying that."

"How did we become so distant, 'Lani?"

"You don't want me to answer that question, Dre. You need to leave. Now."

" 'Lani, please! I'm tired of this! I-"

"Dre, you need to leave before I do something I might regret."

"I love you, Lani. I need you, baby. I-"

"Have you still been seeing your baby mama?"

Dre scoffed. "Of course I've still been seeing by baby mama, Lani! She is the mother of my child, of course."

Kehlani looked at him like she wasn't convinced. "Now you know that's not what I mean by seeing her."

Dre went mute.

Busted.

Kehlani laughed like she was watching a Katt Williams comedy show. To be honest, she felt like this whole thing was a comedy.

All for laughs.

"Dre, all this time you we're lying in my face. Right when I was about to believe you, I find out everything you've been saying was a lie. A big ass lie. Yet, I still love your stupid ass."

"You love me enough to leave Ty?"

Kehlani thought long and hard about his question. She contemplated on cussing his ass out or giving him a true answer. All this love triangle has done for her is just cause heartache and headache in the worst way possible, and that wasn't good for any of them.

"Dre, I just wanna be alone for a while. Is it a crime to be single?"

Dre was hurt, but Kehlani knew he'd get over it sooner or later.

Then again, she hoped he'd get over it sooner than later, because she wasn't changing her mind.
