Auggie?

Riley walked up the stairs of her apartment complex.
She got to her house and walked inside. Usually she was greeted by her brother,but today was different.
She felt a sense of emptiness inside the small room.
"Auggie?" She called
No answer.
"Auggie?" She says again with a shakiness in her voice.
"August Matthews, this isn't a game of hide and seek, come out!" She yelled.
Now running around the house, Riley was searching frantically around the house for him.
"This isn't very funny, Auggie."
She searched for about 30 minutes, yet she found nothing.
Riley pulls her phone out of her pocket. She calls her mom.
"Mom, was Auggie supposed to go home with a friend today?" She asks anxiously.
"No, why?"replied her confused mother.
"He isn't home yet, I'm worried."
"Why wouldn't he be home?" asks Topanga.
"I don't know, that's why I'm asking you. He's your child."
"Oh my gosh" she says.
"Mom, what?" Riley asks.
"I'm coming home, lock the doors. I have a key to get in." says her mother.
"Mom, your scaring me. What's going on?" Riley asks nervously.
"We'll  talk when I get home. Bye, honey."
"Mom-" Topanga hangs up.
Riley does what she is told and locks the doors.
Within 5 minutes, Topanga unlocks the door, tears streaming down her face.
"I called your father, he is on his way."
"Where is he, mom?" Riley asks.
"Riley, do you remember what happened to Ava?"
"Yeah, how could I forget. She was kidnaped. A week later they found her body, unconscious 70 miles from her home. She pronounced dead the next morning. Why-" Riley stops in realization
"No, that can't be. How did this happen." Riley says, also crying.
"I don't know, it's a possibility that Auggie was taken." She replies.
"But why, why would someone do this to Auggie?"
"People do crazy things, Riley."
Riley runs off to her room. She never thought anything like this could happen. And then a horrible thought crept into Riley's head. Her only sibling, could be dead.
