Auggie Matthews,8 years old, was walking through his apartment building on his way home from school. In the elevator, he notices that a strange man has been following him. He gets out of the elevator and sprints as quickly as he can through the building. He wasn't fast enough and the man caught up. Auggie recognizes the man's face in an instant. It was Farkle Minkus, the man who had been on the news for killing his neighbor, Ava Morgenstern. He snatches Auggie up, and runs to his car. Auggie screams.
"Help Me!"
They were already out the door before anyone noticed the small child being taken away. It happened in an instant. Auggie could be saved though. That's where his 16 year old sister, Riley, and her two friends come into the story.
