She was up all night watching movies, and laying on the couch. She occasionally got up but that was to use the bathroom. When I was getting ready to doze off, I heard the door open. I quickly look up and see Scarlet step out of the door.

What was she doing? I stepped outside and didn't see her. Oh no. She was already far enough. I had to go after her before she did something reckless. I grabbed my shoes and ran out toward her house.

Scarlets POV
I tried to sneak out of his house, but the door just had to squeak. I ran as far as I could to my house, and then started walking. I gripped the matches I had in my pocket.

I heard footsteps and they were getting closer. I started to speed walk away. I had my hood up so people couldn't tell if it was me at first glance. The footsteps started to get closer I acted like a normal person walking down the sidewalk. The footsteps were to close now and I took off running. I didn't look back to see who it was, I just took off.

I had finally reached my house. There was what was left of the yellow tape across the door. I opened the door and stepped inside. It reeked an awful smell. I grabbed my nose and quickly wen to my room. I wanted out of there as soon as possible. I gathered up everything I owned and threw it outside, as far away from the house as possible. I got back to the door and turned around. I didn't have my normal clothes on. I had black gloves, jacket, and pants. My hood was falling in my face, which made me keep pushing it back. I breathed I deeply, which was a bad idea because of the smell.

"Goodbye, mom and dad. It's for the best." I said closing the door behind me. I pushed my stuff farther away from the house.

I say on the concrete stairs that lead up to the door. I pulled out the matches and looked at the house and back at the matches. I sighed and lit the match. I closed my eyes and was getting ready to throw it behind me when I heard a voice.

I opened my eyes and saw Vincent, standing there out of breath.

"Do you really want to do this?" He asked. A tear was brought to my eye. I held it back and gripped my teeth. I had to throw it back before the matches reached my finger. I squeezed my eyes shut and threw the match back.

I heard crackling behind me and looked back. The house was now in flames. I just sat there in the steps, feeling the heat from the fire on my back. Vincent looked at me in awe and I looked down. I didn't try to hold back my tears any longer. I let it all break out. Right there on the steps.

Vincent's POV
Scarlet had just caught the house on fire. Why would she do that? I walked over to her and grabbed her hands, almost lost for words.

"Wh- you..." I was still processing this. She must have been in some real grief. I saw the flame start to grow and I pulled her away from the house.

"Scarlet you do know that the police cant study the crime scene any more? This case isn't going to get solved now." I said to her, holding her face. She froze for a second. Had she not thought about that before?

She turned to the house and stared at it for a second.

"Oh my god. Vincent we have to put it out. We have too!" She started to panic. The flame was already getting to big to stop ourselves. She tried to run toward it, but i grabbed her.

"Vincent what are we doing we h-"

"Scarlet! The flame is to big for us its too late! There is no turning back." I yelled at her. She kept struggling against my grip.  She fought for a while. Screaming and crying. She eventually came to her senses.

She hit the ground and buried her hands in her face. I kneeled next to her and rubbed her back.

"Cmon. We gotta go before we get burnt too." I said soothingly as i picked her and her things up and walked home.

Hunters POV
What did Vincent think he was doing? Why is he comforting her. That's what I was supposed to be doing! That's the whole reason I killed her parents! Is so that I could comfort her. I will have to kill him next to get him out of the way.
