Hunters pov
I was racing down the hill into the town. I wanted to grab Scarlet and hold her forever. To smell the scent of her beautiful, long, black hair. To touch her soft skin.
When I reached the bottom I was jumping for joy, turning back to see Chase staggering down the hill.
"Chase. Come on let's go!" I yelled at him. He gave me a dirty look and stood beside me.
"So what's the plan?"
"We wait for tomorrow night"
"What?! Another night, why?"
Chase glared at me and started to explain.
"We have been traveling for a few days now. We need to rest. So, we are going to find a place to hunker down for the night, and to spend the day tomorrow."
I was reluctant to the plan, but Chase wasn't going to budge on his opinion. Lucky for him, I know just the place.
I took him to this shack that was up in the woods near the town. It's been abandoned for years, and I always came up here when I needed privacy. Chase nodded in approval.
"Ok, you stay here. I'm going to run into town to get some food. You start setting things up." He said handing me his bag. I nodded as he turned and left.
I looked at the ol' building and sighed. Just like old times I thought and creaked open the door. I stepped in and set our bags on the table. All of the things I brought up here were still here and intact. The table, the chairs, even the notebook and pen. I looked at the wall were I had left the ropes I brought up here if I ever wanted to kill myself.
Suddenly, I heard a creek from the floor. Chase couldn't be back already. I spun around to find the culprit. My eyes widened as I saw who it was.
"I-Isaiah?" I felt my whole stomach twist into a knot. Isaiah's eyes widened as he pulled a blunt from his mouth. We stared at each other in shock.
"This blunt must have been laced with shit." Isaiah said as he took another hit.
"Isaiah no, Im really here." I said as I walked to him
"Hunter..."
"Yeah, it's me."
Isaiah grabbed my shoulders.
"What the fuck were you thinking? You committed murder and now your on the run? Go back to were your supposed to be!"
"I-"
Isaiah began to sob. The grip on my shoulders tightened. I wasn't sure how to respond. Eventually he looked up and wiped the tears from his face.
"Uh anyway. I should be asking you what you're doing in here." I said to Isaiah. He turned and leaned on the wall.
"I come here to smoke."
"When did you start smoking?"
"I have been for a while now." He said, taking another hit. After a bit of silence Isaiah finally spoke.
"I'm going to have to turn you in, you know that right?"
"What?"
"Your being hunted, and you have all of us worried now that your not contained. It would be best for all of us,"
I started to get very angry. Isaiah, the person that I thought would be my best friend, is threatening to turn me in.
"To be honest im scared to even be standing in here with you." He continued. "Come on. Lets go to the station."
"I'm afraid I cant let you do that." I said blankly.
"Wha-" I cut Isaiah off before he could finish. I kneed him in the gut and chopped the back of the neck. He was out cold. I sighed and looked at him on the floor.
Now how am I going to explain this to Chase. I picked Isaiah up and sat him in one of the chairs, taking one of the ropes to tie him up.
When I was finished, Chase opened the door. Right on que. Chase frowned when he saw Isaiah.
"What the fuck?"
I sighed. "Let me explain."
