Andrej was about fifty feet in front of me, blond hair whipping in the wind, his lean muscles tense, his translucent blue wings flapping rapidly to keep his slender, model like frame in the air as his baby blue eyes surveyed the surroundings. I would sneak up on him since I'm behind him but I knew that he already sensed my presence, he was a warrior after all, with his heightened senses and years of vigorous training nothing could get pass him and I'd probably trip in mid air due to how clumsy I am in the moments when I need to be graceful.

He turned in my direction and his electric orbs zeroed in on me causing a rare smile to grace his angelic face as he slowly approaches me. He circled me, grinning in such a child like manner that I almost cooed at the sight. "Where have you been kitten?" I roll my eyes at his nickname for me, raising my brow in my usual sassy manner.

"Are you my keeper?" The smile never left his face as he stared at me.

"I was assigned by her majesty to protect you so yes I would say that I am your keeper." I huff, appalled at the thought of having a babysitter when I could take care of myself, though if I ever was to have a guardian I'd choose this guy right here or Justin, but alas I'm sure Justin has his hands full with his mate. "When did this happen and why wasn't I informed about it?" He ignores my questions and proceeds to place a necklace around my neck with a sizable multicolored gem, glowing slightly as the rays of the sun came in contact with it.

I clutch the necklace in my hand and stare up at him, knowing exactly what he is about to say. "I'm sure you already know what that is, that was made especially for you by her majesty, whenever you feel you are in danger or you need me, just call and I'll be there, I'll always be there." From that moment I knew that he'd never hurt or betray me and he'd always protect me, maybe it was the genuine care and devotion in his eyes as he said those words or the serious tone he uttered them with but I knew that I'd always be able to count on him.

"Can I see it?" I didn't have to be specific, he already knew what I was referring to, my thoughts were also cemented when he stretched forth his left wrist and there it sat, his multicolored Pandora-like bracelet that would alert him that his presence was needed.

"So I basically have no privacy then?" I deadpan as he continued to explain how the necklace and bracelet worked.

"Of course you will, I'll simply be able to feel any negative emotion emitting from your body, whether it be distress, sadness, hatred, fear, anger and so on, well if it becomes overwhelming." I hum at that, taking another sip of my freshly squeezed orange juice, seated on the plush, comfy surface of my red couch with Andrej sat across from me on a one seater munching on my famous coconut and raisin rock buns.

This isn't an unusual occurrence if that's what you're thinking, hundreds of faeries, ranging from a new born to a elderly faerie whose mate probably died recently had a guardian, her majesty had a special gift where she just knew that one of her people needed to be assigned a warrior to provide guidance and protection, it was like an instinct of hers and she also knew when that guardian was no longer needed.

It wasn't a must that a faerie would get a guardian; it only happened if that faerie needed one, so I never expected that I'd be assigned one. I shake my head, trying to rid it of the plaguing thoughts now assaulting my mind. This has nothing to do with that stupid prophecy Zayn. I felt the tiny, almost nonexistent tingling behind my eyes and knew they were betraying me, showing what I was feeling. I squeeze them shut, trying to conceal the bright orange that signaled to the whole world that I was afraid. I began rocking back and forth, mumbling comforting words to myself as nervousness and anxiety of what is to come floods my system.

I hear Andrej move and soon felt arms wrapping around me as he began to whisper sweet words of comfort in my ears, I breathe in and out slowly, listening to the constant thump of his heart, visualizing it pumping blood to every corner of his body but it wasn't working, my anxiety was getting the best of me.
