The door opens with a loud scream like a tin man that has been stiff for many years.

"Well just don't stand there in the middle of the door way." Mom says.
"Sorry, I'm just wondering what is going on out there." I replied.
"It's going to be okay, dad has everything under control." She says to me to calm me down.

20 min later

"Its 5:00 am and dad still isn't home yet." I said nervously
"It's okay, they are probably just loading the food on the trucks." Mom said
"It's not fair that the city can just come and demand us to give them our food, some day we have to stand up to them." I said in a disturbed voice.
"Lealoni. We have to do what we have to do. It's our nature whether you like it or not. We grow the food and they pay us mone-"
"They pay us nothing but with dirt." I said cutting her off.
"Yes, I know. But it's we have been doing for years. We don't have the luxury of living in the city like other people do honey. We have to deal with what we got." She replies
"Okay... fine, but one day I'm going to do something about it." I said in a sarcastic voice.

40 min later

"When can we come out of our houses? It's been forever!!" I complained
"When they tell us to come out." Mom says

10 min later

"It's been hours. So long I can't even tell the time. I feel like life is dripping off my fingers and being collected in jars."

Once in a while I can hear dad and the soldiers having a disagreement about something, and one of the soldiers would threaten him and he would talk under his breath. All of this seem so out of place. This is not an ordinary day for us.

"It's been more than an hour" I said.
"Yes, I know" Mom replied.
"Do u think they are done?" I said fast back.
"I hope so" She says.

5 min later

"I don't hear anything" I said nervously.
"Me either" Mom replied.
"I'm going to go check on Louis" I said.
