The Angel had been a dear friend to Lucinda. Her time to visiting was nearing to a close end. She had six more days until her time was up.
She could feel herself slowly starting to be at peace in her afterlife.
She no longer felt lost in the midst of souls."Is it time yet?" Lucinda had asked
the Angel. "No, not yet Lucy." The Angel answers. Lucinda could've sworn he called her Lucy, that was her nickname. She remembered, it was a family member that used to call her Lucy. She forgot who, but it was someone close to her.A family member that had passed way before her. Lucinda decided not to dwell on the thought. She pushed the thought aside. Nothing was more depressing than thinking about a deaf loved one after your own death. Well, that's what Lucinda thought.
"What do we do now?" Lucinda asked the Angel.
"Whatever you wish for." The Angel answer. Lucinda took a while to think, she had helped people and saw her family again. Those were the only things that she truly wanted to do.Although, she felt as if there was some thing that she was missing.
Lucinda was starting to feel lost...again. Maybe her time wasn't over, just yet. Maybe there was still something that she was missing, but what was it? The Angel had interrupted Lucinda's thoughts."We could check on Marisol." The Angel had suggested. Lucinda had took another close look at the Angel.
She wondered about his true identity and who he really was.
"What's your real name?" She asked curiously. The Angel turned his head to the side, as if he hadn't heard the question.
"Pardon?" He said immediately. Lucinda had yet again ignored another thought. She knew the Angel wouldn't answer. She decided to not repeat the question, it was no use."It would be nice to go check on her, to see if it actually worked." Lucinda added on. Lucinda reached for the Angel's hand.
"We should get going, before it's too late." She tells him.
The Angel looked like he was reluctant to go. Instead of him taking Lucinda's hand, he took a deep breath and sat down on the living room floor.Lucinda looked at him in confusion.
"What's wrong?" She asked him.
"I don't feel so well, I feel drained." He told Lucinda.
"Drained? You weak?" She asked him.
"Yeah, it's from all the traveling I've been doing. Even I have my limits, Lucy." He tells her. There it was again, her nickname.
"You should go upstairs and get some rest." She had suggested.
"It's for the best." He had agreed. Lucinda had lowered her hand, The Angel had gotten up off the floor.
"Are you going to be okay while I rest?" The Angel asked her."I'm sure that I'll be fine." Lucinda had reassured him.
"Okay, just make sure you stay close by. It's very risking leaving your old home while I rest." The Angel told her."And why is that?" Lucinda asked him in confusion.
"Old places that you remember keep you connected to the world your in when your a spirit. If you wander off into an unknown place, you could end up lost and that place can be forgotten." The Angel explained.
"Okay, I won't go anywhere." She had told him."Okay, see you later Lucy." The Angel told her. Lucy, how did he know her nickname? Did he know that it was her nickname or was it just a weird coincidence? Whatever it was, Lucinda knew it had to mean something. The house was now filled with silence.
Lucinda wandered around the living room. She wasn't tired, she had plenty of rest. Maybe she could find something to busy herself while the Angel rested. But she had no idea about what she could do. Lucinda continued to wander around the living room until an old photograph caught her eye.
Curiosity struck her and she picked up the picture. The person in it was a man, someone that seemed awfully familiar to Lucinda. She put photograph close to her face and that's something struck her. Lucinda dropped the photo and looked at her surroundings. She was no longer in her old home.
She was in a great big meadow surrounded by flowers of all kinds.
She heard crying in the distance and followed the sound. In the midst of the flowers was a woman and a man, with a child. It was her, she was in a passed memory. She knew it was a memory but exactly where was she and how had she gotten there.Lucinda thought it wasn't possible, but somehow here it was happening right in front of her. She was lost, she was lost and had no idea where to turn to.
