Lucinda had followed the sound of laughter and delight outside the meadow. When she was no longer in the midst of flowers, that's when she had found where the noise was coming from. She stood there, gazing upon the beauty of a young woman. She had brown beautiful locks that were swept over her shoulder. The lady was wearing a very vibrant pink dress and was smiling as she laid a hand upon her belly.
The woman somehow seemed familiar to Lucinda. It was as if Lucinda had known her, on a personal level. Next to her was young man. He also seemed familiar to Lucinda. They were going to be parents. Lucinda did not understand why she was here or exactly where was here.
She was completely lost with no sense of direction on where to turn to. All she knew was that she had to get home, but exactly how would she get there? The young man and woman passed directly in Lucinda's way. They didn't seem to know that she was there. Lucinda started to understand what was going in a little bit.
This must've been a distance memory. It probably was a distance memory, but it sure enough wasn't her's. She had never seen these people in her lives and she wouldn't have existed during this time. She would've just been born, a baby at least. This must've had something to do with some sort of unfinished business.
Lucinda had no idea what unfinished business she had, she would just have to find out for herself. Lucinda turned on the heels of her feet and followed the man and woman. Maybe they could lead her to clue. A clue to that may help her figure out why she's there and exactly where she is. The man and woman were walking until suddenly, Lucinda found herself in a small house.
The woman and the man came through the door holding bags this time. They seemed happy and joyful, the smiles seemed to be plastered onto their faces. Lucinda had probably never even seen anyone this happy in her life before. She was still puzzled by the fact that she was here. There was nothing there for her.
Everything seemed to be okay, calm, and peaceful. Everything seemed to be right where it was supposed to be. Still, Lucinda didn't have a single clue. Then the young woman spoke, her voice had also sounded awfully familiar. It sounded like her Aunt Theresa.
As a matter of fact, the woman seemed to look exactly like her Aunt. Although it seemed that way, the woman wasn't a younger version of her Aunt Theresa. Everything started to click. Lucinda didn't know much about her parents. They had died... after her sister was born. These people weren't mere strangers.
These two people were her parents. Her mother and her father, that's why the seemed so familiar. Lucinda was blinded by a sudden white light.
She was no longer in the house of her deceased parents. She now stood in the middle of a graveyard. The day had went from bright and beautiful to dark and bleak. She was now at a funeral. People gathered together in a crowd around two caskets. Lucinda felt tears streaming down her cheeks. They were gone, it was her parents bodies.
She couldn't recall a single memory if being at a funeral. These were her parents though, how could she forget about them? Lucinda couldn't blame herself, she had only been just a child during their funeral. She couldn't remember anything about her parents. She had had known that someone close to her had died.
That's why she was here. She needed closer, not with herself. But with her parents, she had to see them again. One last time, Lucinda had felt the brush of a warm hand against her face. "Lucy " She heard a soft voice say.
She looked directly in front of her. There she was, her mother.
"Mom." Lucinda had said in an almost whisper. "We'll be waiting for you, me your father. this isn't the last time I'll see you." Her mother starts."When the time is right, you'll be at peace. And we'll all be able to leave together." Lucinda's mother finishes. Lucinda's mother leaned forward and landed a gentle kiss on her forehead. The warmth of her mother caused her to close her eyes. When Lucinda had opened her eyes, her mother was gone.
Lucinda was saddened by her mother's departure, but then she remembered. It wouldn't be the last time that she would see her, she would see her mother and father.
