i noticed anne wasn't at school the past few days and i started to get worried.

i heard a few rumors around school that were awful but i could help but think they could be true.

the bell rang and i decided to drive to the hospital just to see if she was there.

i walked up to the front desk.

"hi i'm here to see anne royce." i smiled at the lady behind the desk.

"down the hall 6th door on the left." she spoke in a monotone while staring at the computer in front of her.

i mumbled a quick thank you and walk towards her room.

i walked in and almost cried at what i saw.

i saw a pale looking girl with brown hair, who looked very sad.

i also saw a very tall boy crying and holding her hand.

"anne i need you to wake up, i can't do this anymore. mom is lost in her own little world and i don't even know where dad is." he sobbed.

"please don't leave me." he whispered to the sleeping girl in the bed beside of him.

he looked up and me and had a wave of confusion wash over his face.

"who are you?" he asked, sniffling while gripping her hand tighter.

"i... um... my name is Levi i go to school with your sister. we have been talking and i didn't know where she went so i though i would come look here." i spoke quietly, still trying to process everything that had happened.

"um okay... would you like to talk to her?" the boy gave a small smile.

"can she hear me?" i asked, kind of confused.

"yeah, at least that's what the nurse told me." she spoke quietly, like if he talked to loud she would wake up.

i just nodded and then boy left the room.

"hey anne, i know you may not know who this is."

"it uh levi clark, i um.... i am the one that has been writing you." i said while looking at her face.

"i just want you to know that... i need you to wake up... the only reason i wake up in the mornings is to write you letters and to get letters from you." by this point i was crying.

"i need you anne, please." i held her hand.

but then something happened.

she squeezed my hand.

she opened her eyes and started crying.

"i should have died! i don't want to be here!" she sobbed.

"hey, i've got you." i hugged her.

the boy walked in and ran over to the bed and hugged his crying sister. so i let go.

"jake why didn't you just leave me there!" she cried hitting him in the arms, but it wasn't affecting him because he was crying.

this boy looked about 14 or 15 but he looked about 6 feet tall and wasn't exactly muscular but he did have some muscle.

he had brown hair that was crushed under a beanie, and was wearing glasses.

"i need you anne i can't do this by myself." he cried into her shoulder.

the doctors ran in the room and gave her some water and food.

she took a sip of her water and looked up at me.

her big green eyes were swollen and sad looking.

"if you don't mind me asking... why me?" she asked me.

i was kind of confused at first, but then i remembered.

she heard me.

"because we are similar, you know." i said smiling slightly.

"we both are each other's only friend." she looked confused.

"what are you talking about? you are the most popular guy in school!" i just laughed.

" the thing about being popular anne is that, non of them are my friends." i had a sad smile.

her eyes looked at me with pity.

"but it's okay...because i have you now."
