Chapter 4

Rachel's POV

     Finn took out his keys and unlocked the door. I still couldn't believe he invited me over. I figured he wouldn't even agree to going out on this date with me considering he was dating Quinn Fabray. The one thing that Kurt just happens to leave out about Finn. But, I do owe him.
     I walked inside and put down my purse on the couch. "You're house is beautiful" I said.
     Finn smiled "Thanks, do you want a drink?"
     "Sure"
     He came back with a couple Cokes. He handed me mine and sat down next to me.
For the next hour, we talked, we laughed, and we shared embarrassing stories. Then things started to get serious.
     "So Rachel, I feel like after tonight I can you anything."
     "I feel like I can tell you anything too. Like I can trust you with my biggest secrets."
     "That's why I wanted to tell you this. Nobody else knows this, not even Quinn. Only my family knows. Can I trust you with my secret?"
     "Of course Finn. You can trust me" I said.
He looked down, then he looked in my eyes.
"Everyone already knows that my dad was in the war. But nobody else knows that's not why he died."
     I got a confused look on my face.
     "He actually died on his way home. I was 6. My mom told me that he was coming home that day and I got so excited that I decided to call him. He picked up the phone and said he was so excited to see me. Then I heard a crash. He'd gotten into a car accident. He died instantly."
     "Oh Finn, I'm so sorry" I said. I saw tears starting to role down his face.
     "It's my fault he died. If I hadn't call him and distracted him, he would have made it home."
     Finn, it wasn't your fault. No one could've known that would've happened. You were 6."
     "But it is my fault. I called him Rachel. Not my mom, me."
     "Finn, look at me" I said softly. I brought my hand to his chin and lifted his head gently so he would look in my eyes.
     "It wasn't your fault" I said again.
     He looked deeply into my eyes as if he was looking for something in them. That when he kissed me right on the lips.
