To understand half the story you need to listen to the song and pay close attention to the lyrics. Thanks!

Moriah was laying in the hospital bed, with Alexis in her hands. She smiled at baby Alexis. She whispered, "My baby girl. I will always love you." Alexis smiled at Moriah's warm words.

Moriah rubbed her nose on Alexis' and baby Alexis giggled. Joel then appeared beside her. They were all happy, together.
Suddenly, Alexis lost the spark in her eyes and breathed her last. Moriah freaked out, screaming for help.

But, it was too late. Alexis was gone. Moriah sobbed and held Alexis in her arms still. Their last memory. Moriah had water in her eyes and cried, "Alexis. Stay with me. Don't leave me." Joel cried to, asking Alexis go come back.

But she wasn't responding.
Joel and Moriah turned away. They just couldn't see her right now. Their hearts just couldn't take.
Moriah wept, letting out a cry. Joel's tears fell to the ground.

Alexis was no longer theirs, she was gone.

Their world was torn. They would never share a name, never be one. But, Joel and Moriah would always remember her.

Then a man, with a white robe and was pure and bright, appeared in front of them.

He carefully took Alexis and smiled at Joel and Moriah. His voice was strong, yet delicate, "Joel. Moriah. Don't cry, for you will see Alexis once again. And not just in heaven. Be prepared. It's not over yet."

He smiled and gave Alexis to another person, a man and a woman and they left with Alexis.

Maybe time will heal their hearts. And maybe in time they will understand. They said their goodbyes, but they still loved Alexis. The man smiled again at Joel and Moriah. He touched their shoulders and spoke, with a voice as loud as thunder.

"Joel, Moriah. My children, do not cry. For I have plans for little Alexis and you. Keep your faith. This won't be easy, but I will never leave you."

Joel woke up, sitting up quickly and breathing rapidly.
He looked over to his left, where Moriah slept, tear tracks on her cheeks.

They weren't at home in Tennessee. They were in Australia, for a tour.

He sighed, and brushed his fingers on her delicate left side of her face.

He got up and went to the balcony. He grabbed a notebook and a pen, sat on a chair and began to write.

Every time he wrote a sentence, he would stop and think about Moriah, Alexis, and his dream.

Time and time,
I thought through it all,
How we loved and loved,
And how we fought, each other,
Pushing one another,
To be somebody else.

And time and time,
I wrestled my thoughts.
Uncertain if the end was right or wrong?
And whether,
We should still be together,
Or with somebody else?

Joel remembered Moriah crying out to Alexis when she had died.

Our last memory,
She had water in her eyes,
She cried, "Stay with me."
And asked, "How can this be love if your leaving me!?"
But darling Love's to blame.

Joel remembered how the doctor took Alexis' dead body.

And I can't see you,
Cause my heart just can't take it.
Can't be near you right now,
Cause I know you're no longer mine.
I can't see you.

Tears slowly trickled down his face.

It makes me ache,
That we had to break.
That even though I knew your heart so well.
We're Strangers in different places,
Though we live a mile apart.
My best friend's gone,
My world has been torn.
We'll never share a name never be one.
But I will always remember years we spent in love.

Joel wiped them, and sniffed.

I still think of you.
I pray that you are safe,
I'm still missing you.
But it has to be this way,
Cause I'm not right for you.
And that's why loves to blame.

And I can't see you right now,
Cause my heart just can't take
And I can't be near you right now.
Cause I know you're no longer mine.
And I can't see you right now,
Cause my heart just can't fake it.
Can't be near you right now,
Cause I know you're no longer mine.

Joel began to sob, but he still wrote.

And I can't see you.
No I can't see you.
I just can't see you!
Right now.

Then Joel remembered what the man in his dreams said.

But maybe time will heal our hearts,
And maybe after time you'll understand.
I say goodbye,
Cause I love you.

And I can't see you right now,
Cause my heart just came take it,
Can't be near you right now,
Cause I know you're no longer mine,
And I can't see you right now,
Cause my heart just can't fake it.
I can't be near you right now,
Cause I know you're no longer mine!

And I can't see you,
No I can't see you.
I just can't see you!
Right now!
No I can't see you
I just can't see you
I just can't see you
Right now!

Joel fell on this knees and cried out the last line.
"And Love's to blame."

Play The Song Above

He cried out to God.

"Lord, I know Alexis is in heaven. I pray that she's okay and I miss her so much." He sniffed in between words. "P-please Lord, give me and M-Moriah the strength t-to make it through L-Lord."

He sobbed into his hands. He let it all out.
A delicate hand touched his shoulder, and gripped it carefully. Moriah appeared behind him, her tears falling on the ground.

She sobbed along with Joel. He couldn't bare to see her crying. He got up and wrapped her in his arms and smoothed her hair.

Moriah cried into his chest, her tears soaking Joel's gray shirt.

But, maybe time will heal their hearts. Like the angel in their dreams said.

It's not over yet.
