Joel and Moriah were expecting a beautiful little girl, Alexis.
Sadly, Alexis died at birth.
So, Moriah and Joel go on tour right after.
But, what they didn't know is that, after they left, Alexis came back to life.
But, after doctors couldn't fin...
"Life. Something so big, for a word so small. Something that is hard to give, but easy to loose. Something that is beautiful to have, but painful to have lost."
Joel wiped his tear at the alter. It was Alexis's funeral, and he was chosen to speak.
"Alexis was full of life. She was... kind, loving, and wonderful to have."
Moriah looked at Joel, her heart was breaking, along with Joel's voice.
"She was so lovely, and beautiful." He began to cry. "I only had her for one year, I lost her when she was just born and when she had fifteen and a half."
Rayne and Madi sat in the front, wiping their tears and sniffing. Moriah sat beside her in-laws. Which, covered the whole front row.
Luke sat beside Moriah, he hugged her, since Joel was speaking. Courtney held little Jude, and Luke and Joel's mum carried Phoenix.
Jude was actually aware of what was happening, and kept crying, too. Phoenix was asleep, too young to understand.
Joel turned to the coffin in which Alexis laid in. She wore a white dress, and beautiful makeup. She didn't look dead, she just looked like she was sleeping. On top of the coffin was a picture of her, covered in a sea of flowers of different colors.

Joel kneeled infront of the coffin. He lowered his head and cried. He whispered a prayer. Moriah couldn't bare to see him like this. She got up and walked to him.

Moriah put her arm around him and cried along with him.
Even after thirty minutes, they were still crying and praying. They invited Casting Crowns and other bands to the funeral.
Casting Crowns decided to sing "Broken Together."
Joel whispered the lyrics, and Moriah hugged him tighter, getting his black suit even more damp with tears.

They finally were home, and they entered the living room, without a word.
Joel couldn't take this pain, and Moriah knew it. She crawled next to him and held his hand. She let her head fall on his shoulder and she kissed his cheek.
Joel put his arm around her and spoke, his heart and voice breaking. "I miss her, dearly." Moriah looked at her wedding ring. "I do too. But, maybe this is God's will. He has a plan for us, Joel. Don't give up." Joel gave a sad smile and kissed Moriah. "I won't."
They looked at each other's eyes and smiled. They knew Alexis was in a better place now.
Just then, they heard crying.
Moriah got up and walked upstairs. And the crying stopped. She came down.
With a pink bundle in her arms.
Joel smiled got up and walked to Moriah. He pushed a corner of the blanket with his finger. A smiling little baby girl looked back. With warm, gorgeous eyes.
Joel cooed, as if the baby girl could understand. "Hello there, Jael Camari Smallbone." The baby smiled and reached for Joel's hand. Moriah smiled and kissed her little cheek.
The baby played with Joel's finger. Smiling, nonstop.
Moriah whispered. "We might have lost someone, but we received someone new."
Joel kissed Jael's forehead and smiled. "My little girl. I will always love you." Jael giggled, and yawned.
They all sat down, and played around and made Jael smile and giggle.
At the little table infront of them, was photos of the Smallbone Family.
A picture of Luke, Courtney, Jude, and Phoenix. A picture of Joel's mum and dad. A picture of Moriah's family. And a picture of Alexis, with the words "We Will Never Forget You, Love."
And right beside Alexis's picture, was a picture of Jael, Joel, and Moriah.
This was truly a miracle. They retrieved their daughter, shortly later she died. But, she died happily. Then, God gave them another gift, for keeping their faith through these challenges.
And that gift was Jael Camari Smallbone, the newest family member of the Smallbone Family. So, through all the joy. Through all the pain. Through all the storms, problems, and challenges. Thought it all.
Love, was to blame.
