Prom with my Tutor?

Monday morning comes early and since both my bodyguards are with me we all just ride to school together in Hunter's jeep. As soon as we get to school people start asking questions about my bruises. I obviously just ignore them, but I sink back into my hoodie- well Hunter's hoodie- anyways. During lunch Hunter has to run home to take Bridget somewhere because his parents couldn't, Matthew and Natalee are working on some project for English, and Ash is with Ryan, so I sat by myself. I look up and see Chelsea walking towards me. "So, did Hunter get what he wanted from you and then left you out to dry?" she asks. I look at her and it takes everything I have not to tackle her. "No" I say and take a drink. "Then where is he?" she asks and smirks. "Why does it matter?" I ask. She glares at me and rolls her eyes. "I just asked you a question and I..." "Hey princess" Hunter says and I smile at his perfect timing. Chelsea looks at Hunter and walks away. "You are my life saver" I say and he just laughs.

"I'm sorry" Hunter says as he wraps his arm around my waist. "It's fine. You can't protect me all the time" I say. "Sadly" he mumbles and I smile. "Do you want to come over to my house tonight?" Hunter asks and I nod. "Ok" he says and the bells rings so we go our separate ways.

After the final bell rings I go straight to Hunter's car and wait for him. "I'm sorry" Hunter says when he unlocks the door "I was looking for you inside." I laugh and get in the car. "What did Chelsea ask you?" Hunter asks and I just look out the window. "Kate?" he says and I see him look over at me. "She asked me if you got what you wanted from me and then left me" I say. He slams on his breaks in the middle of the back road we are on and looks over at me. "She said what?" he asks obviously shocked and possibly angry. "She asked if you got what you wanted from me and then left me" I say and he stares at me. "Oh my gosh. That is like an inhuman thing to say. You know I would never leave you" he says and I nod. "I know, that's why I didn't let it bother me" I say and he half smiles at me and then starts driving again.

We hang out for a few hours until it was duskish and Hunter pulls me from the house and into his old truck. "What are we doing?" I ask and he just smiles. We drive to the barn and the white lights are lit up since it was darkish. Hunter just smiles and grabs my arm and pulls me towards the barn. "Close your eyes" he says and puts his hands over my eyes. "Hunter Matthews what are you doing?" I ask even though I'm laughing. "Will you just be quiet for two minutes?" he asks laughing. He slowly removes his hands from my eyes and I open my eyes and see even more white lights hung up and twinkling. I look down and in the middle of the barn is lights spelling out "PROM?" and a rose in the middle of the heart below it. I cover my mouth and turn to see Hunter. "So, what do ya say?" he asks smiling. "Yes" I say and he picks me up and hugs me. "She said yes" Hunter announce into the barn and I look behind me and I see Ashley and Bridget come out from the behind the barn. "YAY" Ashley says and hugs me. "I got some awesome pictures" Ashley says and I smile. Bridget comes up to me and says "See I told you that you should have a date." I smile and hug her.

"Me and Ryan, and you and Hunter. How cute are those pictures going to be" Ashley squeals. Hunter laughs and I smile still shocked that I even have a date. "What are you thinking about?" Hunter asks and I smile and shake my head. "I know there's something going on in that beautiful head of yours" Hunter says and I smile bigger. "I just find it strange that a month ago I didn't even think I would have a date and now I have a date with the most popular guy in school and one of my best friends" I say and he smiles and Ashley goes "Awww." I roll my eyes at her and look at Hunter. "Well you will finally get to see my dress in a couple weeks" I say. "Finally" he says and we laugh.

The next day nothing could ruin my mood. Hunter walked me to all of my classes and had his arm around me the whole time. We went over to Ashley's house and hung out with her and Ryan. "So, what are you guys doing after prom?" Ryan asks; me and Ashley look at each other and then me and Hunter. I shrug and Ashley just mumbles that she doesn't care. "I was thinking, if you guys want to we could just skip the food at prom and eat afterwards" Ryan suggests and we all nod. "Have you seen Ashley's dress yet?" Hunter asks Ryan with a smirk. "Yeah" he says and smiles at her. "You traitor" I say and she just laughs. "Have you seen Kate's?" Ryan asks and I laugh and Hunter shakes his head. "Keeping the anticipation going?" Ryan asks. "It's more like stubbornness" Hunter says and Ashley and I laugh.
