Chapter Eight

Neko:

My heart was racing, and my body went entirely cold. I just curdled in the corner of the room, clutching my daughters and waiting for Roman to come back.

"NO MISAO!! NO PLEASE! DONT LEAVE ME YOU CANT FUCKING LEAVE ME, YOURE ALL I HAVE!! MISAOOO!!!"

I recognized the screaming voice as Lucy's....was Misao really..dead? I sure as hell didn't want to wait around to find out, Emry was already screaming her head off. I held her close, shushing her, there was a sudden dragging sound. Like a body being moved away from the door, my body tensed up and I scooted more into the corner.

"You'd come out if you know what's good for those babies, Neko. LOOK WHAT YOUR MATE HAS DONE! I WONT FORGIVE ANY OF YOU PARASITES" Lucy screeched, tears streamed down my face, where's Roman? I don't know how long this door is going to last!

"Move away from the fucking door bitch.", at the sound of Roman's voice I knew it was my chance to escape. Emry finally calmed down, and Eliza was as usual very quiet. I raised the the window, with both of my girls tightly wrapped around me. I caught the sight of my sister who ran over immediately to me, "Neko! What are you doing? Get back in the house!"

"No! It's to dangerous, Lucy and Misao are in there! And Roman is...I have to get the twins out of here!"

She nodded "okay okay, follow me". We ran towards the pack clinic, which was far from where any of Misao's pack could see. I'm worried about Roman but I know he can hold his own...my girls need to be safe....until then I'll wait...

Roman:

Misao is dead.

I shot him clean through the head. Though I didn't Intend for Lucy to be here when I did, so now she's lost her goddamn mind...or was it already lost? She glared at me deeply, it appeared she was shaking with deep anger, but I wasn't going to back down.

"Is there something you'd like to say?" I asked.

She pointed at me " YOU. YOU KILLED HIM."

"Yes I did." I replied plainly. She growled at me, transforming into her wolf form. Before she could lunge at me I transformed, knocking her against a broken door frame. I couldn't smell Neko's scent anymore, which means he escaped.

WHY COULDNT HAD BEEN YOU THAT WAS OUT OF THE
FUCKING WAY? THEIF! MURDEROR!!! SWINE!!

I growled at her, lunging for another attack but she dodged me, coming for me from behind. Her sharp teeth sunk into my neck and I yelped, shaking her off. She swung off of me, hitting the floor, I went for another attack and went for her junglier. She clawed at me, squirming under my body, but I wouldn't let her go till she stopped forever.

But something stopped me. I felt a number of people behind me, I let Lucy go and turned around only to see the four members of our pack council. With respect I bowed to them, not saying a single word. "Rise your head Roman" a woman spoke, I did as I was told, Lucy growled transforming back into her human form, "GET THE FUCK AWAY! THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY OF YOU PARASITES!".

"SILENCE." The woman demanded, Lucy sunk into the ground at the woman's voice. "Now isn't that better? Now then....where in Neko Kure and the children?", I tranformed back, "he's in hiding, safe with my daughters". She nodded "I am pleased to hear that, and is that Misao Hajime over there?" She asked, pointing at his deceased body.

I slowly nodded ".....yes madam....I shot him.."

"Well, since the hard part is taken care of...Lucy will come with us."

At that Lucy jumped up and ran out of a window that was broken. I was just about to run after her but, the woman stopped me and shook her head, "do not concern yourself with her. Go to your family", I only nodded in response. It didn't take long to for me to find Neko and the girls, once he saw me he clung to me, crying his heart out.

In a way I wanted to cry too....
It's finally over...Misao is dead. Lucy is going to be either arrested or possibly killed, either one works for me, as long as that psycho never gets near my family again. We had to refix a lot of things around the reserve, no lives were lost but a lot of Omegas and Alphas were wounded.

"It's finally over..." Neko whispered, half asleep. I smiled, holding him close, "yeah...it is".

"Roman?"

"Hm?"

"Thank you..." He breathed.

"For what?" I asked

He turned to me "for staying"

I laughed alittle, kissing his head "what do you mean? Of course I'd stay".

Neko:

Five years have gone by since Misao's death and Lucy's disappearance. It was said she killed herself or possibly is still on the run, but who knows?

The twins are growing up so fast it seems. I'm always catching myself just staring at them in Awe.....
About 3 months ago I found out I was pregnant with my third child, I couldn't be happier. Roman was able to get a job in the city, so we had to get a house close to his job in the medical clinic. It's cozy, and quiet here, which is what I like.

"Mommy..." Emry whined.

"It's almost done I promise. Just be patient sweetie" I said, Emry convinced me to bake a cake, I argued about how she gets with sweets but...you have to spoil your kids every once in a while. Eliza scattered all her drawings in the living room, trying to decide which one to give daddy once he came home, most of them were some kind of blob like thing.

"Who's baking cake??"

Right on schedule

"Daddy!!" The twins yelled, clinging on to Roman. He almost toppled over but caught himself, I shook my head an smiled. "Daddy! I made...cat!" Eliza said, Roman squinted at the picture "are you sure? Looks like a squid to me..."

"Roman!" I whisper yelled.

He shrugged "what?? You want me to lie?"

"Would be better..."

After dinner, I put the girls to bed, and went back to lay down. Roman was already in bed, curled up in the blankets, I snuggled close to him. It's been so stress free lately, no more worrying and no more fear...I'm finally happy and comfortable...but I always wonder, if maybe there was a way to safe Misao. Maybe if he had someone to talk to or may be....maybe is he didn't feel he was so alone then he wouldn't have done what he did....

In any case, it seems he was beyond saving I suppose...
I'm happy with my family just being safe, my handsom husband...and my gorgeous daughters. I couldn't ask for anything more, and I couldn't be any happier. I closed my eyes, snuggling close to Roman's warm body, he sleepily draped his arm around me and I fell into darkness...finally able to dream better dreams..
