Chapter Four

Roman:

We finally made the decision to head back home early.

It wasn't that we wanted to, it was more of we needed to. Neko's anxiety about his family and the pups was getting out of hand, and I hated seeming him in that state of worry. But I was happy to go home and see the twins again, I missed them a lot.

The plane ride was silent most of the way, Neko hadn't said very much but just fiddled with his hands and picked at himself nervously. He was extremely stressed, I could tell that much. He can't very well hide what he's feeling or thinking, though he always gets on to me for doing it too. Switching planes was a real hassle, Neko clung to me like a baby koala, everyone was trying to pick out the seats they wanted, due to the fact on the plane that we were on you could pick any seat you wanted. We sat closer to the front so that it was easier to get off once we've landed, I put mine and Neko's carry-ons above us and sat down.

I noticed Neko's face was turning pale, and he looked as if he was about to be sick. "Baby what's wrong?" I asked, he turned to me and just shook his head. I wrapped my arm around his shoulder and pulled him closer to me, he wasn't catching a fever or anything. "All these planes are making me feel nauseous...." He mumbled, I smiled and kissed is head "I'm sorry, but this is the last one so we'll be home soon okay?" .

"Yeah..." He sighed.

Once we were back in the US, it was a straight shot back to San Diego. Neko had alittle "spill" once we landed, I had to carry him on my back through out the whole airport. I saw my mom and Neko's mom waiting for us with the twins, and my brothers holding a welcome home sign that had Nimex hideous art work on it. My mom rushed over to us, upon seeing Neko on my back and started to nag me on how I should take better care of him, the twins automatically started to whine and cry. Neko slid off my back and ran towards them, picking them up and crying. "I'm so sorry babies! Mommy won't leave you alone like that again, I promise!", I smiled and kissed my pups.

We all went back to my parents house, since they cooked dinner. Neko was busy with the twins, and I busy talking to my dad about the trip. He turned alittle serious for a minute, " Roman, I know why you came back early" he said, I sighed and grinned " let's talk outside please?" . We both made our way outside, still hearing all of the laughter and partying in the house. It made me feel better hearing everyone even though there was still so much eating away at me...
"Your mother told me you sensed a women hike you were in London. I knew immediately it had to be her." He said
"Her who?"
"Misao's mate. She's been up and down here for the past few weeks, I've only seen her once. She hasn't done anything which seemed alittle strange...but I don't think she's far from doing anything" he replied.

I tried to process what he just said for a moment. It was almost unreal, how could Misao be so messed up to send his mate out and look for us, and to do what? Spy on the girls, or Neko? "Do you have omegas out to hunt her down?" I asked, my father nodded "it's been alittle bit of a cat and mouse game you know? She's been around off and on but she's pretty fast too" .

"Should me and Neko not stay her tonight? We can go back to our apartment and at least be safe there"

"Yes, it's best if the girls aren't here" he replied. I started to feel uneasy and wanted to leave immediately, I didn't want to be here when shit hits the damn fan. After a while me and Neko took the girls home, he protested that we should have stayed with our parents but I told him everything would be fine. The Twins safety comes first, if anything were to happen to them.... I'd only have myself to blame.

Upon arriving at our apartment, I got stuck with getting all the baby stuff. Neko already made his way with the girls to our door, which was strangly left ajar....
I automatically dropped everything and pulled Neko away from in, already smelling an intruder. A woman, I can definetly smell her this time and it was extremely close, as if she were standing in front of us.

"Whoever the hell you are come out! Don't just stand there!" I said, pushing the door open even wider, the girls started to whimper and Neko shushed them, looking at me in fear. "Neko, I want you to take the girls and get back in the car. Okay?", he nodded hesitantly and hurried to the car, locking it.

I stepped inside our apartment, which had been ransacked, paper and glass were everywhere. Our family photo was scratched out and left to lay on the floor, it was quiet...to quiet.

"So we finally meet. Roman"

I whipped around to see a woman sitting on the couch. Her legs crossed and a sever wicked smile played upon her face, her red hair was in a bun and she looked like she was well put together, in a skin tight dress and jewels that I sure as hell couldn't really afford. She stood up and chuckled darkly, playing with a small blade, "you know I've been waiting to meet you for a very long time. Sorry to have let myself in, my names Lucy "she sneered.

"Likewise" I answered plainly "so you're the one who's been stalking my family?"

"Stalking? I was merely learning about the incompetent men and women who stole my mates family from him" she replied, stepping closer to me. My wolf growled, warning her to back up, but she kept her pase slow and light. "You have a few things that I want Roman and I'm not leaving until I get what I want.".

"You're not touching my family, and you can make sure Misao knows that. Before I take another one of that bastards eyes" I spat, she growled at me, pouncing on me like a wild animal. She was strong I'll give her that, but I'm still an alpha. She towered me for a moment, her eyes filled with fire, "DONT YOU EVER TALK ABOUT MY MATE LIKE THAT AGAIN YOU FILTHY MUTT! YOU DONT KNOW WHAT HE'S BEEN GOING THROUGH, DO YOU KNOW THE PAIN AND SUFFERING YOU AND YOUR DISTGUSTING EXAMPLE OF A PACK HAS DONE TO HIM? TAKING HIS FAMILY HIS CHILDREN AWAY?"

"His family? His children? No. Those girls are my children, I helped create them and I sure as hell helped bring them into this world so if you think for one second that maniac has the right to have what I have you must be out of your damned mind" I replied simply, she slapped me and I pushed her off. Before she transformed I beat her to it, chomping on one of her hind legs and hearing her Yelp. She tackled me, and I managed to get her off, running after her as she tried to leave the apartment.

I saw Neko in his wolf form, biting down on her shoulder. "Neko no! Get up!" I yelled, seeing someone come around from the car, wielding a knife and jabbing it in Neko's leg. He howled and tranformed back into his form, leaning against the car. I made my way over to him, Lucy stared blankly at us holding onto the omega that stabbed Neko, "How could you Neko? How could you betray Misao? HE LOVES YOU AND YOU BETRAY HIM!". Out of no where, she turns to the boy and breaks his neck, Neko flinched automatically looking sick.

I shook my head in Awh, watching her struggle to stand up, she transformed and ran off. "W-what do we do with the body?" Neko asked, yanking the knife out of his leg. He sucked in a low groan and tried to stand up, I held onto his waist, and helped him make his way to the girls side of the car. Emry was about to start crying so I pulled her out and hugged her, "I'll....call Kira and Akito" I replied, Neko nodded and picked up Eliza, holding her close to his chest. I heard him start to sob and start to shake, pulling him close to me I let him cry. "It'll be okay...everything will be okay" I whispered, "at least they're okay...my babies are okay" he said shakily, I smiled.

"I won't let anything happen to them. I promise."
