Inspiration is something that seems to work for some people but not for others. I use to not really have any inspiration, but over time when I looked back at my stories or poems or anything else I realized how I came up with that idea.
Everyone has inspiration, whether you know it or not!
You can get inspiration from anything, and I mean anything! Sometimes I get my inspiration for a story from my personal experiences. For example, my story “Rags” is based off of a game my friends and I use to play together when we were eight or nine years old. I was able to use that game and transform it into a story. You would have never guessed that would you?
I also get inspiration from reading other stories, but I don’t copy them. I’ll read a chapter of a story, predict what will happen in the next chapter, it will usually be way off but then I can use what I thought would of happened in my own story.
Besides that, you can get inspiration from movies, paintings, friends, nature, anything you can think of. Base your story off of where you’re from, your friends and things that can relate to you. By doing this you can get more connected with the characters and the scenes and such.
You want your stories to be as real as possible!
