How and where to start what?
Let me tell you, in this chapter I’m going to try and help you accomplish starting a story successfully without any stress. How? Let me tell you.
What do you want the story to be? Romance, Vampire (eye role), Fantasy, Sci-Fi? You have to choose first. If you don’t choose the right genre, then you could end up with a confusing story, and your readers will be confused and you’ll be confused and I’ll be confused and that hotdog over there will be confused and of course the couch will be confused and everything will be PUZZLED! So… Chose the right genre!
Once you do, make up some characters. You can get help with creating your characters on the “Stories” chapter! After all of this is planned out, make what I called a pyramid.
Definition of Pyramid: Solid triangular shape.
How does a pyramid have anything to do with writing? First, draw your 2D pyramid on a piece of paper. Next, at the bottom left point of your pyramid, write the first things that happen in your story. This could include going to school, work, a party, a train station, whatever. How the day starts off.
Then, at the top of your pyramid, after the climax (climbing your way up to the climax) write the main problem and the main scene of your story. Eventually, after the main part, you go downhill the pyramid to the end of the story, the right hand point.
