I looked down at all the cages. There were gruffs in all of them. Some were dead, which explained the strong, vial smell. The place looked abandoned with no food or water, must be where he escaped from. I heard him gruff from the back of the building so I made my way there. I saw a cage with the door open. "So this is where you came from, huh buddy?" I kneeled down and gave him a pat on the head, he was starting to grow on me, I already loved him. I smiled to myself as I looked down at him. His expression changed into a sad one. He walked into the cage and nudged something. It was another gruff, but on the verge of death, I had to save it.

I got my bottle of water and dripped some in it's mouth. She swallowed so I could see she was getting some in her body, I kept doing it until my bottle finished. I gave her some food which she are very slowly ate. She was so weak and it broke my heart to see her like this, a living creature and this is how the Roamers treat them. Locking them in cages so they can't even get food for themselves. I knew that if she was like this then some of the others would be too. I walked down and opened all the cages. Once I got the last one open I made my way to the other gruff, to see if she got any better. I was only a few cages away when a gruff jumped in front of me and started to gruff and growl. I tried to calm it down by talking to it and showing it that I had nothing in my hands but nothing was working, it must have thought I was a Roamers and I was going to hurt it.

It lunged forward and tried to bite me but I jumped back. I took steps back slowly, but soon I hit a wall. I could see me dead, there was no way I was making it out of here alive, or with out at least getting bit several times.

I closed my eyes a little and turned my head to the side, I didn't want to hurt it and had nothing to use to show it I was friendly. I left my bag at the back with the other gruffs.

I heard a louder gruff which caused me to turn my head and stare with amazement. It was the gruffs, both of them. She got better, they're known for how quick they heal, but best known for their loyalty. They stood in front of me and egged the others to get back, and away from me. I couldn't help but smile.

They began to gruff and each other but this wasn't as aggressive, it was lighter. They were communicating. The aggressive gruff stood up straight and made his way towards me. His aggression had all gone. He was calm and friendly. He licked my hand and jumped on me. I couldn't help but cuddle him, he was adorable.

I walked towards the back to grab my bag. A few gruffs were rummaging through it taking anything and everything, but I couldn't be mad, they just wanted food. I made my way back to the front of the building checking all the cages were gruff free. Some had dead corpses which I dragged out. They were too heavy to lift but I couldn't just leave their bodies to rot. A few of the other gruffs noticed what I was doing and joined in. I've only known them for a little while and already they've made me smile more times then I ever have, in my entire life.

We started dragging them all the way back to the rocks which was pretty far I became thirsty so stopped for a drink. I gave some of the other gruffs some water too, which meant I finished a bottle and a half of water. We passed the oasis so I just refilled my bottles then, and it gave the gruffs a chance to get a proper drink. Some of the gruffs left but some stayed, the others probably had their families to get to, some were mothers so needed to find there nests and their young.

We all continued to the rocks, we finally made it. We piled the bodies up and burned them. I moved away a little as the smell was getting really strong. I took a seat and the gruffs followed.

"Well I guess since you're all staying I should give you names, let's see."

I pointed to each one of them. "You can be Sheba, you can be Tysa, you can be Venus, you're Titan and you're Franklin. I smiled and made my way back into the little cave to get some rest. I lay down and shut my eyes and the gruffs came and cuddled next to me. It was really cozy and nice. I smiled and gave them each a little stroke before finally going to sleep.
