Chapter 16

Cameron's POV

"Kathy you have to try to walk."

"But I can't! I feel like I'm going to fall to the ground." Kathy says as she takes her hair out of her face.

I groan and rub my face with my hands.

"Come on Kathy." Aaron says as he brushes his hair with his fingers.

"Que pasa?" Kathy's dad asks.

Translation: What's going on?

Luckily I understand a little bit of Spanish. Thank god I'm taking Spanish classes. Even though I have a C+ in that class.

Me, Aaron, Zoe, and Kathy's dad stayed the night at the hospital to take care of Kathy. I think Kathy's dad only stayed for two reasons. 1. Because he wanted to watch her and 2. He didn't like the fact that I was staying the night as well. But it's not like I'm going to do anything. I have a feeling he doesn't like me though. Maybe because Kathy barely told him I was her boyfriend. But it's not her fault. We just started dating.

"La Katy no quiere a caminar." Aaron explains.

Translation: Kathy doesn't want to walk.

" Mejía, tienes que caminar. Y si no, vas a tener que quedarte aquí más tiempo." Her dad says.

Translation: Honey you have to try and walk. If not, your going to stay here longer.

Kathy groans and slowly try's to get out of her bed. I help her stand up as she wiggles a little bit. She takes her first step and almost falls over. She breathes in and takes a couple of more steps. She grabbed me tightly afraid of falling down.

"Ok I think you can let me go now." Kathy says.

I let her go and watch her walk by her self. She walks back in forth, from her bed to her dad.

"See, was that so hard to do?" I ask.

"Honestly yes." Kathy laughs.

Kathy's dad hugs her and smiles.

Kathy's dad tells her he'll be right back as she gets back in bed.

"What's your dad's name again?"

"Antonio." Kathy says.

"Oh."

"Don't be nervous." Kathy takes me hand and holds it.

"I'm not nervous, I'm scared."

"Just try to talk to him, he's not as bad as you think." Kathy says.

I smile and kiss her forehead.

"Ha your afraid of her dad." Aaron chuckles.

"Come on like if you were never scared of my dad." Kathy says as she raises an eyebrow.

"Me and your dad are like best friends." Aaron says as he acts cool.

"Ok." Kathy laughs.

"Oh my god Kathy your awake. Thank god! I bought you guys some food." Zoe says as she walks towards us while holding 3 balloons that say ' Get Well Soon!' in one hand and in the other hand a bag of McDonald's.

Kathy laughs and grabs the bag of food.

"I want the pancakes."

"Me too." She passes me a plate with pancakes, Bacon, a mini breakfast sandwich and eggs.
