Chapter 30:

"Sis that turkey smells so good," Dale came into the kitchen and stood by the door of the oven watching the turkey cook.

"Well it's what I'm good at, I try," I smiled. I loved seeing Dale look this happy every time I made the turkey on Thanksgiving.

"You sure do a good job at trying," Dale walked up to me.

"Thanks." I looked around the kitchen to make sure everything was where it's supposed to be and that we have everything cooking right on schedule. "Where's James?"

"He went to the store to get some wine, he said that's a tradition for him, a glass of red wine with Thanksgiving dinner." Dale raised his eyebrows at me,

"Oh, I didn't know he was going out." I sighed.

"You are so attached already. He'll be right back." Dale reassured me.

"I know, I guess I'm being an needy baby right now." I chuckled.

"I'm glad you two are back on good terms." As much as Dale pretends to be upset about James and I, I know he is actually really happy that James makes me smile.

"Yes so am I, I didn't notice how much I missed him until now." I said.

"Missed who?" James walked into the front door. He held a brown paper bag in his hand which I assumed had the wine in.

"You." I looked up at James and smiled, he really warmed my heart. It was something about  this look he gave me that always made me blush. I never had anyone look at me the way James looked at me. I bet with that stare it has everyone silently saying goals. I'm new to this whole relationship thing, but that's what James and I have to work on teaching each other I can use all the help I can get.

"Aw, I have to say I missed you more, though," James smirked showing his adorable dimples that drove me crazy. "Oh, and I have the wine."

"Everything seems to be going good, the rice is done, so is the potato salad, the turkey and ham are in the oven." I looked over at Dale to make sure what he was making was also done.

"I got the stuffing on the stove and I bought pumpkin pie, I'm not really sure if that's all I was supposed to do." Dale scratched the back of his head.

"Yes that's all, it's such a beautiful day. Happy Thanksgiving to my two favorite guys." I stood in the middle of the kitchen with my arms stretched out wide and both Dale and James ran up to me to give me a hug.

"Move Dale." James lightly shoved Dale trying to get a better hug from me.

"No, you move." Dale did the same and I giggled at how adorable they were fighting over me.

It made me really happy that we're just like this little extended family, we basically all look out for each other and love each other and it's so amazing that I couldn't even put it into words how happy they made me.

"You guys are adorable," I said and gave both Dale and James a kiss on the cheek.

"That's all I get?" James perked his lips and looked deeply into my eyes.

I put my fingers to his lips. "Well, will you look at the time? The turkey and ham are all ready to come out of the oven now." I slowly walked away to the oven not taking a look back at James.

"You are so mean, you know that? All I wanted was for you to give me a little kiss." James said and I turned around to look at him and he pouted.

"You big baby." I stuck my tongue out at him and continued off to go check on the ham and turkey. It was actually finally ready, I took it out of the oven and rested it on the table with all the other foods we had. This is for sure going to be a feast, Thanksgiving Day spent with my brother and boyfriend. Doesn't that just sound so amazing? It takes my mind off all of the complications and misery in my life, which is the best feeling I can experience right now, it was most needed.

After I finished putting the turkey and ham on the table I noticed that James and Dale were no longer in the kitchen so I went to go find them and they were both in the living room watching The Walking Dead. I had this habit of squeezing myself right in between of them which they must be annoyed by, but oh well I don't care. "Are you guys ready to eat? The food is ready and I'm starving."

"Oh yes." Dale jumped up from the couch and had the biggest smile on his face. "Come on hurry up let's go." Dale sped off into the kitchen leaving me and James in the living room laughing at him, but then I grabbed James up lightly pulling him into the kitchen with me.

I noticed Dale standing over the turkey trying to pick at it. "Dale no touching we have to say grace first and thank God for this beautiful day and food."

"Right sorry, I'll say grace." James, Dale and I held hands and Dale was just about to say grace, but then the bell rang. "Are any of you expecting someone?"

"No." James and I said simultaneously and we all looked at each other until Dale said he'll get the door. "Who do you think is at the door?" I asked James.

"I'm not really sure." James said and we stood there waiting patiently.

"Look who it is." Dale walked back into the kitchen and Kristy came in right behind him.

"What are you doing here? Did I leave something at your house?" I asked surprised that she was here.

"I came to help." The look on Kristy's face I knew she actually meant that she was trying to play lifesaver with me and James just in case I needed it. I should've told her that James and I were actually good now, but its fine I don't mind her being here.

"Oh, you're the best, we're good actually about to eat now so you came at the perfect time." I noticed that Kristy was looking at me and James holding hands and she smiled at us. I playfully rolled my eyes at her blushing. "We were actually just about to say grace."

"Mhmm." I find it so strange how Kristy and I can communicate with each other with little to no words. I didn't have to say much to her, but she got the message that James' and I problems are fixed. "Well then let's eat."

We all held hands in a circle while Dale said grace. When he finished we sat down at the table and started eating. Everything was just so delicious and so mouth-watering good. After twenty minutes of sitting around the table and talking I noticed Dale and Kristy having a sweet conversation. Watching them talk made me realize how adorable it would be if they got together, my best friend in a relationship with my brother, while I'm dating my brother's best friend. That just sounds lovely, we would all be able to just hang out and do stuff together like all of the time. There was a light tug on my shirt pulling me out of my thoughts and I looked and noticed James standing next to me trying to get my attention.

"Yes, what's up?" I lifted my eyebrows in concern.

"We should let them talk. Come on, we still need to talk as well." James held out his hand for me so he could help me out of my seat. He led me down this long hallway into a part of the house I actually never been to before.

"Where are we going?" I asked in curiosity.

"Some place quiet." That's all he said. Once we got to the end of the hall James opened this door and it led to a balcony. I stood by the gate and watched the view it was dark but beautiful, there were so many stars shining brightly in the sky.

"Come sit down." James called out for me to sit down next to him at the mini table he had on the balcony so I got a chair and pulled it up right in front of him.

A/n I just want to thank you all for being patient with me and my slow updates, you guys really are the best.
