You were sitting in the lonely corner of the lunch room, accompanied by loneliness. Your so called "friends" among the popular group easily abandoned you after the new kid, Park Jimin, had replaced your throne of popularity. A month of no show after the "hospital thing" bumped you to the bottom of our school's social ladder. Only thirty days of absence and your status had changed from school heartthrob to 'the weird guy who always wears his hoodie in class'. Hail, the beauty of high school.

My best friend and I were about to have lunch with the rest of our friends when she nudged my arm and innocently whispered, "I feel bad for Taehyung. Shouldn't we sit with him. He looks so lonely." She was too nice. You made fun of her (a lot) freshmen year and yet there she was, concern spread across her face.

I was hesitant to say yes. But, I didn't want to say no. Watching you sit alone and boringly pick at cubes of meat was enough to drive some sympathy into me."I guess."

She skipped to your table.

"Hi." She smiled at you.

"Hi, Soo Hyun." You said.

She brushed a piece of hair behind her ear.

"Hey Al. Nice to see you again."

"Again? You guys talk?" Soo Hyun furrowed her eyebrows, which you found cute because I remember how your wide smile came into view.

"Long story." We said in unison. I hoped you didn't notice the pink tint in my cheeks as you chuckled lightly.
