The First Year

3| Platform 9 & 3/4

The 1st of September dawned bright and cloudless. Lily was up at around 5 even though the train left at 11 o'clock. She practically woke the whole house up, want it or not, by jumping up and down the stairs.

 "Damn you Lily!!" James yelled from his room, but Lily was totally oblivious to all that. She ran down the stairs and began to make toast for herself. 

Just then, Ginny came down and she began making pancakes. Lily ran up to inform her brothers of the situation. 

"Guys! Pancakes for breakfast!" she said in front of the doors to her brothers' rooms. They came out wearing crumpled clothes and in a cranky mood. "Bye" she squeaked and bolted down the stairs.

 The effort wasn't in vain though, because in 5 minutes both Albus and James were in the kitchen along with their father and there was a stack of pancakes for them to devour. Then they went to check if they packed everything and they hauled their trunks down the stairs.

 After they did that, they all trooped upstairs to change into good clothes. Lily looked into her wardrobe and selected a t-shirt, pants and a red-and-gold jacket.

 Then she put some lip gloss and slipped the tube into her pocket along with her iPod. She used it when there were few wizards around because 2 or 3 wizards could use electricity but when there were many of them the stuff went haywire.

 "Lils!" she heard her dad call her from downstairs. "Coming!" she replied and made her way to her trunk and Hedwig's cage. They went into their car and sat until they got to king's cross station. When they got to the station they went towards platforms 9 & 10.

 James went first, then Al, then Harry. 

"Go on" Ginny said, and Lily ran into the wall and came out in platform 9&¾. Ginny came right after her. The air was full of the noises of various animals and chatter and laughter of the students. Lily looked around until she saw Hugo and she ran up to him. 

"Hey Hugo!" she said and with that they started going on and on and on as if they hadn't met only about a week beforehand. Soon she heard the first whistle and she gave a hug to her parents, promised she'll owl and lugged her trunk into the train and waved as the train left the station.

 As they lost sight of their parents Lily and Hugo tried to find a compartment. After a while they found an empty compartment and they sat there. After talking about quiddich for a bit Hugo fell asleep.

 Then, two boys came to the compartment and one of them said "Hey, I'm Lorcan and this is Lysander can we sit here? Everywhere else is full" Lily said yes.

 So they sat down and introduced themselves. "I'm Lily, and this is Hugo my cousin." Lily said "You'd probably know me because I'm 'Harry Potter's' child" doing air commas around Harry Potter. 

Lorcan and Lysander nodded. "Our mom's Luna and our dad's Rolf Scamander." Lorcan said. Lily noticed that Lorcan was very talkative and humorous while Lysander was rather quiet and shy and Lily thought it was amazing how different they were but they still seemed to be the best of friends.

 Finally Hugo woke up and Lily introduced the twins to him, he seemed to be better friends with Lysander than Lorcan though.

 At around 2 o'clock the lady with the cart came and said, "Anything off the cart dears?" and Lily bought sweets for everyone. They stuffed their faces with sweets and Lily said "y'all all owe me now" in a hilarious fake accent, but everyone laughed and they knew she was joking.

 Soon everyone was talking about Hogwarts. "What house do you think you will be in?" Lorcan asked. "Maybe gryffindor or ravenclaw." Lily said while Hugo answered in a definite "Gryffindor, my whole family's there" Lorcan stared. 

"My mom was a ravenclaw and my dad went to school in The Wizarding Institute of America so maybe Ravenclaw." Lorcan said and Lysander just shrugged. Lily looked curiously at the twins. They looked almost alike with the same blonde but sort of ragged hair and dark, tanned skin.

 But, Lorcan had a cheeky grin while Lysander seemed kind of worried. 

"Do you know any magic?" Lily asked them. "I know the levitation charm but that's all." Hugo said. "Bet Ron taught you with the Hermione's LevioSA thing" Lily said, with a grin. 

She instantly started retelling the story to Lorcan and Lysander with overly-exaggerated gestures and voices sending the others into fits. Their laughter slowly dimmed and lapsed into a comfortable silence. Lily looked out of the window, it was getting dark out.

 "We better change" Hugo said after a while of silence. "Ok" everyone else said and they wore their robes.

Sorry guys, this was probably a bit late coming. School started a while ago and I honestly am getting so busy.

I promise you all solemnly that I will inform in the previous Author's note if I can't do the next update. So far it's going on either Sunday or Tuesday updates every week depending on how it goes.
