The First Year

4| Hogwarts!

Lily put her wand on the table while she did and she heard Lorcan gasp. 

"What? Is it dirty?" Lily asked with a panicked edge to her voice. "Th- that is the Celestial wand of power!" Lorcan and Lysander said together. "The what?" Lily said. 

"The celestial wand of power is the second most powerful wand in existence. It is believed to be the only wand with the core of a pheonix tear." Lorcan explained with a look of awe. "Go on" Lily said, her heart beating fast. "It's the only wand like that because the phoenix belonged to Godric Gryffindor and one day it's tear turned into a thread of fine spun crystal and wouldn't break so taking Rowena's advice he made a wand and gifted it to her." Lysander finished.

Lily woke with a start. "I had the weirdest dream you know?" she told no one in particular.

The train screehed to a stop. They went to the front of the train and heard a gruff voice saying "Firs' years to meh! 'ver 'ere!!" 

"Hagrid!" Lily called joyfully. Hagrid looked towards her and said "'lo Lily. Startin' 'ogwarts eh?" After all the first years gathered around Hagrid, they went towards the boats.

 Lily was with Hugo and the twins. They went through a tunnel of rock and Lily got her first glimpse of Hogwarts and she grinned. 

They reached the huge double doors and Proffessor Longbottom was there waiting for them. He saw them come and waved cheerfully. 

"All right, there are four houses in Hogwarts called Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. You will be sorted into your houses and they will be like your family in Hogwarts, ok? The only thing you need to do is wear this hat so no worries" he said when they reached him. Then they all walked into the Great Hall.

 Proffessor Longbottom set the hat on the little stool he also brought with him. Everyone stared at the hat, almost willing it to do something. Then, the rip near the brim of the hat opened and began to say;

Once upon a time
As all good stories go
I was a simple hat
Upon Gryffindor's brow

As their time was ending,
The founders; a clever bunch
Started a school
With just a little hunch

But those after them
Shall need to know,
Where onto they belong
And how they are to go

My job here is to sort you
To your places in this school
Where you go, who you are
I'll tell you on this stool

Gryffindor, home of the brave
Ravenclaw, the clever
Hufflepuff, kindest of them all
Slytherin, the deceiver

So out of all these houses four
You'll go to only one
So put me on an dill tell you
Where you all belong

After this extraordinary speech Professor Longbottom started calling out names as if this was a common experience, and then he reached 'P'.  

"Potter, Lily!" He called out and Lily cautiously sat on the stool and wore the hat.

 "Hmmm... The holder of the wand! This is great, but where will you go? Not slytherin or hufflepuff, surely. Brave and smart, yes but you'll be better off in GRYFFINDOR!!!" the hat said Gryffindor out loud. 

Lily got up and placed the hat on the chair. She fled to the Gryffindor table which had erupted into cheers. 

Lorcan was also sorted into Gryffindor but Lysander was sorted into Ravenclaw and Hugo was sorted into Hufflepuff. 

Then, the feast began and Lily thought she had only eaten as much only at Grandma Weasley's house. They went to the Fat Lady's portrait and said the password ('Custard creams' which was subsequently changed into 'Canary Creams' much to the prefects' chagrin) 

The common room was large and comfortable and there were two staircases leading off to the dormitories. Lily and Lorcan split up and she headed to her dormitory. 

It had 5 beds and chests in front of them as well as bedside tables. It was furnished in red and gold, very much like the common room. She slipped into her bed and fell asleep dreaming of magic and spells.

Sorry about the wait guys, I was kinda grounded and I might be a bit irregular with the updates but I'll try my best.

Also I am going to write a bonus chapter with a Hayley/ Lorcan flashback if we get this bool to 35 reads by next Thursday. Hit the little star if you loved this chapter!!!
