The First Year

5| First day at Hogwarts

Lily woke up with the sun on her face. She looked around, wondering where on Earth she was, when she realized that she was in Hogwarts. 

"Wake up everyone!" she said waking anyone who wasn't already up. 

"Shut up will you, some people are trying to have a decent nap" said a girl whose name was probably Alice. "Alice right?" she asked only to be met with a groan from Alice. 

Lily wore her robes and put her books in her bag and left. She sat next to Lorcan in the Gryffindor table and Professor Longbottom passed out the timetables.

 "We've got charms with the Hufflepuffs first" Lily stated to Lorcan and they got up. There were a few people in the charms classroom so they took adjoining desks. Professor Flitwick came in and started taking attendance. 

Just then, Alice fled into the room, her hair still messy and a piece of toast in her hand. Lily giggled, remembering Alice's reluctance to get up in the morning as she mumbled a quick "sorry". 

She came and sat on the other side of Lily. 

"Probably wish you woke up early didn't you" she said, grinning. Alice frowned at Lily and Lily had to laugh, causing Alice to laugh too. 

Flitwick peered at them with his tiny glasses and said "everything all right there?" in an inexplicably high voice. Lily and Alice nodded quickly. Proffessor Flitwick began the lesson, "In about a week you will know how to cast the levitation charm correctly. The incantation is Wingardium Leviosa....." The lesson went on... 

After the lessons Lily abbreviated the introductions as they raced across the halls to Defence against the dark arts. 

"Lorcan; Alice." 

"Alice; Lorcan."

 The defence teacher turned out to be a woman with short, spikey, blonde hair and a cheerful voice. "OK class, my name is Victoria Dante" she said with an accent Lily couldn't place. 

'The introduction to the Dark Arts and Defence' was what she called the lecture and she dimmed the lights to make it spooky and entertaining. 

They had transfiguration and potions as well that day. 

During lunch Alice, Lorcan and Lily sat in silence until Lorcan burst into laughter causing half of the Gryffindor table to stare. 

"What can you possibly be laughing at?" Lily asked pointedly. 

"Oooh---Alice's-----face" he said in between laughs. "Oh you don't know the whole story yet" Lily said, describing the morning events. 

"Well I happen to value a good sleep in. Unlike some people" Alice said adding a lot of attitude into her voice. The three of them laughed. 

"Come on gang- Potions!" Lily said. They walked to the dungeons just as the bell rang. 

After the lessons the trio were doing homework in the common room. 

"What on Earth persuaded Flitwick to load us with homework on the first day!" Alice wailed that evening while Lorcan agreed. 

"Oh come on it's not that bad" Lily chided. 

James came towards them, with his friend (and cousin-mind you) Roxanne, not far behind. Both of them were grinning mischievously, "Hey James" Lily said watching James carefully so he doesn't do anything unexpected. 

"Get ready for a certain someone to be pranked." James said. 

"But isn't that taking it too far? It's only the first day!" Lily asked anxiously knowing that Scorpius Malfoy was going to be on the receiving end of this one. James really hated him since Al became friends with him. 

"Nah, he'll never notice. It'll be in little doses, throughout the term." James said. Lorcan and Alice just stared at the siblings clueless about who the hell they were talking about. 

Lily opened her mouth to protest but James said "You won't persuade me out of this Lils so don't try" She sighed as he stalked away. 

"I'm done for today" Lily said and headed to the girls' dorms with Alice. At the dorms Lily fell on the bed with a huff. 

"Who's James gonna prank?" Alice asked conspirationally, sitting cross legged on Lily's bed. 

"Scorpius" Lily said simply. 

"Slytherin?" 

Lily nodded "Malfoy". 

"Oooh that only makes it better, this will be very entertaining." 

"How do you know?" Lily asked. 

"James won't be able to prank him in his classes so it will all be in public so it's gonna be fun" 

Lily rolled her eyes. "Get off my bed now so I can sleep."

Soooooooooooo sorry for the sorta late update! haven't really fixed a proper schedule for life what with, achievments and rowing and concerts etc. But Ill'try to get it under control for you guys!
