Death? Xenon's lack is death?!

Technically, that's everyone's lack too. In this case, Xenon is basically in his prime until some tragic death. Unlike everyone else, our strength decreases over time due to old age. Xenon, however, will always be at his top game because he doesn't get any older.

I get it now, why Xenon has people drafted into protecting his home after graduating the Academy. It's a really extensive, ridiculous safety precaution because he cannot die until he is killed.

What's worse is that his lure is equivalent to the power of God. As of now I don't believe my power potential could even hold a candle to his! What could possibly be stronger than life? Or God?!

In the back of my mind, I already found myself apologizing to Zephyr, Scarlet, Josh, Jenna, and Venn. Everyone who's helped me get to where I am today. I can't do this; the weight of the world on my shoulders is beginning to crush me.

"Your plan was predictable and you cannot kill me." Xenon said. "It's best you go back to Chicago and tell Zephyr you failed."

His statement stuck me. I was beggining to think that maybe, just maybe... he's right.

Who did I think I was, barging into his office like I own the place and expecting this visit to be short. I'm so stupid!

I wiped a tear away from my eye and turned around. I don't walk, though. I just stare at the exit. I should quit before I fail.

Or should I stay and try? After coming this far, I'm finally at my destination. All my scrapes and bruises from the journey - they were not in vain.

I whipped my head around and charged toward Xenon with anger. Anger for the monsters he has created, the families he has torn apart, and the destruction he caused the country.

I got in arm's reach of him and was about to throw a punch, but he looked me in the eye and I suddenly froze. Believe me, I tried to move, but I'm frozen where I stand.

"Tyler..." Xenon looked me straight in my eyes. "I warned you. I already win."

Without moving a muscle, he somehow threw me across the room, my back slamming against the wall before falling to the ground.

What is this? It's like me tossed me aside... with his mind! Nothing visible or tangible involved, he simply flicked me away with pure will!

My eyes shot to the office door, Scarlet and Josh bursting into the entryway. Scarlet rushed to my aid and Josh knelt beside me.

"What happened to Brandt?" my curiosity led me to say. "Actually, never mind that. You both need to leave! This is my fight!"

"Brandt's taking a little nap." Scarlet smirked. "And we're not leaving you. We can do this together, you know."

"Scarlet, you are still in no condition to fight." I exhaled.

"We didn't come for a fight, but we will fight 'till the end." Josh intervened. "We have too many war wounds and not enough wars."

Oh gosh. I love these two.

"We might be able to at least seize him- together. I'm telling you, this guy can only be stopped by death. And his lure is invisible!"
