Edd POV.
After we got home, from our shopping trip, leaving Kevin there a bit stunned. I tossed some of our stopping on the floor next to couch and turned to Rosetta and Rick. "Sit and explain what the HELL that was about!" I demanded. Mother was about to scold me for my language when Rosetta just placed a calming hand on her shoulder, then obliged to my request by dragging Rick by his hand and sat him down on the couch then sat in his lap, holding him tight. As if she didn't he would vanish or he would break. He then wrapped one arm around her waist tightly, and the other around her upper torso as he pressed his face into her chest, like a toddler who woke up from a nightmare.
Rosetta took a breath as she looked at me, giving me her attention. "I've already told you how I got there, and how we were treated." she pointed out and I nodded. "But the one thing I didn't tell you what they wanted us for. You see, there are a sertin part of the government that are insistent on collecting all children that show any of the slightest spark of some kind of power that we shouldn't normally posses. And the experiments they produce on us is to actually, force us to show them before their time. They kidnap us, torcher us, then train us so they can use us to gain power over the states or even the world. We are used as assassins to remove any possible threat to their plans. Also the price for accelerating the process of the power development is insanity and death. Even more so if you don't have someone there for you. Which mentally you'll most likely to see as a mate. Which is why they would pair us off with the other gender. So if they were to take you Edward. They would have paired with a girl at a very young age, so you would be forced to see her as your "True mate. " But me and Rick were an acceptation that happens very little. Unlike a large amount of the children, we were older, and since we each other we kept sane. And we could CLEARLY see we were destined mates. Which is why these appeared." she turned around and lifted both the back of her shirt, and slid down the top of Rick's who in turned gave a slight growl. Her action showed a Black wolf size dog print in the middle of her spine, and a blood colored Rose on Rick's left peck.
"Those appeared after realizing you both wear mates?" my mother question.
"Yes. Along with some knowledge about our people." She stated.
"Which is?" I pushed for her to go on.
"Well, for one. You and your mate don't need to be different genders to have a child like normal people. You could be a gay couple and still have one. The one taking the "Girl" spot, would be the one to have the baby though." She said.
