Keep The Beat

Rose POV

It's been a few days since we started practicing for the Pep-rally. It's now Saturday morning and Rick and I had planned to teach them the lift part of the dance. But right now I just sat in bed happily watching Rick sleep as I softly petted his head. He seemed a bit child like when he slept. But I couldn't help that our flirting and touching began to increase (Is that possible? O.o). Which only meant one thing. Finally after all these years, we're about to go into heat. But the bad thing about being in heat is like with other animals. Which meant the opposite gender will smell us, our people or not. They will become attracted to us until I'm either pregnant or it blows over. Luckily though we are easing into the beginning stages. So basically won't start until the 4 day weekend after the pep-rally.

After about fifteen more minutes of petting Rick while deep in thought he woke up and pulled my hips close to him, causing the blanket to fall from covering my bare chest and into my lap. Rick looked up at me and kissed lightly bellow my rib cage, making me shiver a little but giggle. "Come on darling. We have to get ready so we can eat breakfast quickly before dad comes to wake us up." I told him. He gave an annoyed grunt but got up anyway with me following close behind. I put on some small baby blue dance shorts, with a tight white tank top that hugged my curves perfectly. Then I slid my hair back into a pony tail, and slid my feet into some sneakers. After finishing I turned to see Rick in red basketball shorts and a black muscle shirt.

"It's been quite." Rick spoke, looking at his wrist where Jonathan's crystal dangled from it.

"Yeah, I thought the corporation would have found us by now. But I guess this silence meant that Jonathan followed us and acted alone. And we just need it to stay that way until mating season is over for us. Because then we are in the clear." I told him, lightly touching the crystal around my wrist.

"We're almost there." Rick stated, and I took his hand and kissed him gently.

"Soon, we won't have to worry about our off spring going through that." I told him.

"Because once they are conceived we will protect them or die trying. Just like the rest." Rick added. Then everything fell silent. We stood there for a little bit looking lovingly into each other's eyes. Then Rick picked me up and we left the room careful not to awake Edward since he doesn't need to be awake till seven. It's now 6:30 and me and rick need to get to the school to prepare.

Edd POV

I had awoken at exactly 7am and went down stares to make myself breakfast, for I was alone today since Rick and Rosetta needed to leave early to prepare for the finishing move to the dance. Today we all will be trying out for the spot with our partners. Because our performance was broken into two showing. One as a whole group, and the second a solo. I would admit, it's already a dream come true to dance with one's crush. But to do a solo? Oh that would be perfect. Because the ones who pass and earn the solo spot will be doing the salsa. It was such an intimate dance, Rose and Rick coria graphed the dance so it's to be expected.

I had walked out of my room only to find that Rose and Rick had already left. I sighed and just gabbed my bag of dance clothes and left the house only grabbing a piece of butter toast. I always know to eat a little before starting an exercise. I locked my house and started walking to the school, it was truly a beautiful day. Not a cloud in sight. Children will definitely be out playing in the afternoon. Suddenly I heard someone yell, "DOUBLE D!!" I turned around to see Kevin jogging up to me.

"Good morning Kevin." I greeted as I waited for him to catch up.

"Sup. You ready for today?" Kevin asked as he lightly patted my back, in which making me smile.

"Indeed. Today we get to see who gets to do the solo dance, along with learning how to lift! This is truly exciting." I replied happily.

"Yeah. But I'm gonna say this strait. YOUR the one being lifted since I'm to heavy." Kevin pointed out.

"Of course. I've been knowing this since we were paired. You HAVE been the male role from day one." I teased. Making him chuckle.

*TimeSkip*

"Okay so there are two Kinds of lifts in this dance. Sine it's a dance to show's a couple in love." Said rose explaining the solo dance. "So the first one is where the male role firmly clasps his hand around his partners waist as they jump into them. Like so," rose took a couple steps back then quickly ran and jumped toward Rick and he caught her easily with one arm around her waist, her legs opened in a spilt motion and Rick spun around as Rose looked elegant in his arm. Then as he put her down she did a quick little twirl then stopped and looked at him. "The second lift shows the couple's passion of one another. Once again the male role must hold firm so as not to drop his partner. Once more we shall demonstrate." Rose then became close to Rick's back and placed her own to his. Then in one swift motion Rick took her hand and spun her to face toward his front. Then with a quick bounce from Rose, he swiftly picked her up and laced a hand under her and she gently and lovingly rapped  her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist. Then after giving a gentle brush to her cheek with the back of his free hand, lovingly placed it firmly in the middle of her back and dipped her. He even made sure to place his lips dangerously close to her collar bone as she leaned her head back. The students started clapping and he put her down.

"Now it's your guy's turn." Rick stated.

We around the gym so to give each pair enough space to move. And when the other started, you could hear, "YOUR HAND IS TO LOW!" or, "OW!! WHY THE FUCK YOU DROP ME?!" Hearing this made me a bit nerves. But I pushed the feeling away and placed faith in Kevin. He hasn't dropped me or stepped on my feet this far and I don't think he'll start now. So we got into position, and sure enough we did the first lift perfectly. My legs were well positioned and Kevin spun around keeping a great hold on my waist. And when I did the twirl at the end I see not only the stares of the other students but my sister nodding in approval.

"Next do lift 2 dear." She told me. I nodded my head and turned to Kevin. He had a bit of a blush on his face but he nodded his head signaling that he was ready. I then lightly ran up to him and with a gentle bounce. He swiftly lifted me up placing his right arm under me. After that we mimicked what Rosetta and Rick did and stopped when Kevin dipped me and his lips hovered over my collar bone. Then once we heard clapping he gently put me down. And we faced the group. Their faces were red, all but Rosetta and Rick's. They were smiling as Rick had his arms rapped around Rosetta's waist as she clapped her hands along with the others.

"Well there is no mistaking it. We found our solo couple!!!" Rosetta announced! Everyone but the Kankers (Who are fucking pissed) were cheering in agreement.

I had to say. Being so up close and personal with Kevin. My heart didn't know the meaning of calm anymore, but I don't think there are any pair of arms I'd rather be in.
