He was always talking to Hope because she might wake up.

Crystal and Sofiya entered the room and she was carrying basket with fruits.

Jay smiled at Crystal. Mrs. McCalley, Hope's Mom, reported Rainie after what happened to Hope. And right now Rainie is in jail. Jay just played Hope's fingers to make himself busy. But he notice that her one finger move. He looked at Hope and saw her eyes are wide open while roaming her eyes in the room. Jay called Crystal and Sofiya that she is now awake.
Crystal: Omg, Hope! How are you feeling right now? ?
Sofiya: Are you hurt or something??
Jay is so happy right now because finally Hope is now awake.
Jay: Hope.. I miss you..
Hope: Excuse me.. But where am I?
Crystal: You—
Hope: Who are you?
