Nialls POV
I felt my eyes flutter open as the plane jolted in the sky. We must've hit some clouds or something. I shifted slightly, before remembering that Millie had her head rested on my chest. I wrapped my arms tighter around her, and I heard her whimper in her sleep. Her green eyes were shut, and her long eyelashes brushed the tops of her cheeks. Her hair was tossed up in a bun on the top of her head. I don't know how she managed to look so cute in sweatpants and a top-not but she did. Her hands lay delicately on my chest, twitching every so often as she slept.
I could feel her shift slightly on top of me. I watched her eyes open, revealing her wide green orbs. I smile slightly at her, and begin to feel my heart rate slightly speeding up. Why is she making me feel like this.
"Oh, I-um-sorry," she nervously giggled, embarrassed at lying on me. I told her not to worry and she grinned at me. She turned towards her window and I saw her face change to one of slight horror. She turned back to me. I could see the fear in her eyes, and the way she fidgeted anxiously made me want to wrap her in my arms again. For her own safety and comfort, of course.
"Distract me," she mutters, biting at her bottom lip. I reach for her hand, making her blush slightly. "So, Millie, what brings you to Florida?"
"Oh, um my uncle has business so he needed to stay here for the summer. My aunt decided that it would be nice to take me and my best friend, Ava, to Florida with him." She points her thumb backwards, motioning to who I assumed was Ava, who was laughing and talking to Harry. I was slightly confused as to why she was here with her aunt and uncle. Where were her parents? I decided not to ask, just in case something had happened to them.
"Why are you boys here? On tour?" She questioned, a puzzled look on her face.
"No, it's actually our time off. Paul said we could go on holiday for a couple months for a break, and we chose Florida," I smile at her. A small grin appears on her face."It must me nice," she says, in a slightly sad tone, "to travel so much." I nod my head slowly.
"It's a lot of fun, don't get me wrong, but it is really tiring. The boys and I sometimes just need a break. From the screaming fans and the constant touring, yo know?"She nods and pulls her hand out of mine, crossing them over her chest and bringing her knees up to her chest. I miss the warmth her hand had provided, before shaking it off, and looking back at Zayn, who was still in a deep sleep, his earphones still playing music into his ears.
"Niall?" Millie mumbles, making me turn around to face her again. "Yes love?" She nibbles her bottom lip again, and her eyes gaze back into mine. I seem to get lost in them for a second or two, being overwhelmed by the deep green color they provided. "How much longer?" She asked.
"Only an hour," I said a hint of disappointment in my voice. I hope she didn't hear it. Only an hour left with Millie.
"Ok," she smiles, but it vanishes off her face immediately after the plane hits some more turbulence. She reaches for my hand, in a state of panic, and I wrap my arms around her shoulders. Again, my heart starts beating faster and I feel a strange sensation in the pit of my stomach. Is that what people call butterflies? I shake my head slightly before pulling her closer into me.
"Thanks," she whispers, looking up at me and smiling slightly. I can feel her body shaking from fear. She really does hate planes, I thought.
"We'll be starting our descent into Miami, Florida in 5 minutes. Please may all flight staff make their way to their seats as we prepare for landing."
I frown slightly, knowing my time with Millie is limited. I see her smile, relief showing all across her face. It's funny how she's so glad the ride is over, and I'm the opposite.
"Hey, um, Millie?" I ask nervously. I felt a blush make its way up to my cheeks as she nods her head. I'm not really very experienced when it comes to girls. Let's just say I'm not the smoothest person ever.
"Can I-uh-could you give me your, um-" she cuts me off with a giggle. "Sure," she says while she nods her head towards my phone sitting on the arm rest next to me. I hand it to her nervously and I watch her type the numbers into my phone. She hands me her's and I type in my number too.
"Thanks," I mutter shyly, forcing myself to meet her stare. Her eyes light up as I blush. Or maybe it was just my imagination. She looked very happy though. I hope it was because of me.
After the plane had landed I grabbed my bag from one of the overhead bins, and I chuckled as she tried to reach her's, but I grabbed it before she could. She smiled at me.
"Thanks," she blushed.
"No problem."We walked off the plane, and Millie and I said goodbye. I waved as she walked off with her friend, aunt and uncle. I joined back up with Louis, Harry, Zayn and Liam.
"So lads, we gotta get to the hotel." I tell them. They're all smirking at me, sharing mischievous glances between them. "What?" I whine.
"That girl," Zayn smiles, "You like her," he says simply, shrugging. I turn back to the other guys.
"I do not!" I exclaim, only to receive cheeky chuckles from my friends. "GUYS!" I yell, " I do not like her!" They laughed and started walking the other direction, towards the checking in gate. As we walk, Louis nudges me, and mutters in my ear, "she's pretty cute, Ni, I'd go for it." Her smirks before walking off towards Harry, starting up a conversation with him.
I look down at my hands. Do I like Millie? I'm not to sure what liking someone that way feels like. But it doesn't matter anyway. A beautiful girl like her probably has a super hot 6 foot boyfriend with tons of tattoos and huge muscles. This makes me frown. Oh well. At least I got her number.
After we head through security, we walk out of the airport and into the humid streets. The sun beats down on us, making me squint my eyes. Liam raises his arm up to hail a taxi. When one pulls over, we all climb in. "Carston Hotel, please."
