Millie's POV
"C'mon, Ava, Millie, let's GO!" I hear my uncle yell as we try to push our way through the huge mob of crazed fans. News about the boys travels fast. Within 10 minutes of the band landing, swarms of teenage girls crowded the airport, desperately waving their hands above their heads, and screaming out to the boys. Posters were everywhere, being held high in the air for everyone to see. "Fuck me, Harry!" one read. That one made me feel bad for the boys. "I love you, my little Irish princess!" another one said. That one made me laugh."We're coming!" I yelled to my uncle, as Ava and I pushed and shoved through the crowd, much to the dislike of the few girls we knocked over. We finally made our way to the doors of the airport, where I saw my aunt and uncle. We ran to them, and they told us we were going to get a taxi to the hotel.
As we exit the automatic sliding doors, the wave of extreme heat smacks me in the face. The humid air automatically slows my breathing, and makes me feel comforted yet tired at the same time. I can already feel the sweat forming on my forehead as I watch my uncle hail a taxi.
"Carston Hotel, please," he says to the taxi driver. The driver nods his head, indicating he knows where he's going, and we head off. Ava and I talk for a while in the back of the car, but eventually she says she's tired, and lays her head against the rattling window of the vehicle. I plug my headphones in and press shuffle on my music. I chuckle quietly to myself as the familiar strum of the guitar in 'One Thing' comes on. I close my eyes and rest my face in the palm of my hand as Liam's gentle voice rings in my ears.
As Niall's solo comes up, I think about how crazy that plane ride was. Well, now that I think about it, it was almost the opposite of crazy. The boys seem like such normal people. They hardly ever talk about themselves, let alone rub fame in our faces. It's just not like them. The paparazzi always make me mad. They make up stupid, snotty rumours about the boys that I know aren't true. Niall was so easy to talk to, and I felt safe with him. Is that crazy? Is it strange? I miss him already. Ok I sound like an absolute idiot, missing someone I l only just met. And not just cause he's famous. I like him. As a friend.
I pull out my phone and decide to text him.
Millie:
Hey, Horan, it's Millie :)A few minutes later, my phone beeps.
Niall:
Hi, Millie. The boys and I are in the taxi on our way to the hotel. Harry's trying to tell us a joke, but he's forgotten most of it... HELP.Just the thought of Harry trying to tell a joke is enough to make a giggle escape out of my mouth, earning a questioning look from my aunt. I shrug at her.
Millie:
Aw, poor Harry. Tell them I say hi.Niall:
They say hi too. Y'know, we should meet up sometime this summer. You, me, Ava and the boys.Millie:
That sounds great! I gtg, our taxi just arrived at the hotel. See ya later, Horan.I climb out of the car and grab my bags, before heading along with the my aunt, uncle and Ava to the hotel doors. We walk over to the front desk, and ask the lady for our room key. She explains to us that the people who had stayed in our room before us were delayed, so the room is still being cleaned. We had a good 3 hours to kill before it could be used. I sigh in frustration as Ava and I wander over to the lounge area of the hotel. We lay back in the plush sofa and glance at our surroundings.
High ceilings loom above us, and marble flooring covers the ground. It's pretty quiet, so even the tiniest whisper would sound horrendously loud. I see buisnessy looking people walking with briefcases, and ladies wearing high heels that click loudly against the floor, echoing around the whole lobby. Huge glass doors reaching up to the ceiling are located to the right of me, revealing the beautiful gardens of the hotel. Palm trees and fluorescent flowers are scattered across the grass, and I watch as the soft wind rustles through them.
I get snapped back to reality by a beeping sound coming from my phone.
Niall:
Made it to the hotel room. What you up to?Millie:
Our room is still being cleaned :/ 3 hours to sit around, waiting.Niall:
Aw that's a shame :( hopefully it'll be done earlier.Millie:
Yeah, the Carston had really good reviews. This place is so fancy, I don't know how my aunt and uncle managed to snag a place like this.It took him a while to answer this text. I assumed he had to go unpack or something. A few minutes later, my phone beeped again.
Niall:
No fucking way. The Carston??Millie:
Yeah, pretty fancy, eh?Niall:
No, no, no. That's not what I mean.Millie:
Well what do you mean then, Horan?Niall:
Millie, the boys and I are staying at the Carston too.
