Everybody go read Lightning_Strikes_ 's new book 'BMW', it's amazing and so far a good read!!

I lunged aside, but the ball lazily rolled between my legs to the corner of the net. Ryland raced around the garden, his shirt covering his face. I smiled.

It was quite comical, until he fell in the pool. I dropped my gloves and ran, diving to his rescue. "Stop moving, I got you! Stop!"

"What just happened?!" Rydel came out running, her hair partly curled.

"Ryland fell in the pool, again." I helped him out, and then heaved myself out. She shook her head, returning inside.

"Well, I think we're done here, yeah?" He panted, sprawled on the grass.

"Whatever floats your boat, I'll be inside." I chuckled.

However I wasn't alone. And neither was Mom.
Beside her in the kitchen sat a man no older than her, the two drinking tea and laughing. All noise ceased once they noticed my presence. "Who's this?"

"Ross, um, this is a friend of mine, Craig," she explained, then turned to the blue eyed man. "This is my second youngest son, Ross."

"Lovely to meet you, son." He shook my hand.

"Pleasure." I replied curtly. "I'll be upstairs if you need me."

"Of course. Wait, honey-"

I closed the door before she could say anything else, and made my way to the living room. Rocky sat staring deeply into a video game, a packet of Doritos and an assortment of crumbs resting on his chest. He moved as I reached for one. "Where have your hands been?"

"Attached to my body," I smirked and he flipped me off. "Did you see that Craig guy?"

"Yes, have you seen his car? It's so cool."

Outside our window was parked a large BMW, sparkling in the sunlight. I looked away soon after, my eyes now focused on Matt as he knocked on the door. He then paced.

I left the living room to allow him inside. Before he could even inhale the air inside the hall, I yanked him upstairs.

"What the-" I silenced him with a bitch slap. "What the hell?!"

"Where were you?! Your druggie friend got me stoned!" I whispered.

"I couldn't make it, I had to look after my folks. But I came here to talk to you about him; he wants to meet with you." He passed me a folded piece of paper. "I would go alone if I was you."

"No, you're coming with me and making sure I don't get killed, I have a family to look after."

"If that car belongs to your stepdad then I think you guys are fine-"

I seized him by the collars. "I don't have a stepdad."

"Anger management is really cheap nowadays." He looked at my hands, and I released him. Calmly, he smoothed down this shirt and sighed. "Thank you. And I can't go, I wast invited. Now I must find your brother-"

"Remember what I said, get him involved in any way and I will end you."

"What are you gonna do, kill me?" He laughed.

"Don't underestimate the mentally unstable."

"What?" The mood suddenly changed.

"Nothing. Scram."
