"You sure about this, Jack?" His mom asked as he and her snuck off somewhere private to talk.

"Yeah" he responded, smiling to his self. "I missed her so much, I love her"

His mom gave him a small smile, thinking other wise. "You sure this just wasn't a way to get out of a marriage you weren't prepared for?" His mother asked, grabbing his hand to let him know she was serious.

Jack sat quiet for a second then shook his head rapidly, "No, Remy has been all I wanted mom. Things weren't right with Madison, they were confirmed when I talked to her the day before the wedding" he brought up.

"You talked to her?"

"She was sitting at the pool and I wanted to talk to her, I winded up almost kissing her. It's like when I looked at her, I fell back in love" he started.

"I felt like when we were young, I never really got to love her, it was all cut short. It was a mistake, not even that. She had no control over it. I love her now" he stated, picking up a box and moving it into the house.

"Jack just make sure you aren't going to hurt her. I don't want you using her as an outlet to get out of a marriage you didn't want" His mom scolded, looking at him sternly.

"I promise mom"

Remy sighed as she moved the second to last box in her house, wiped the sweat off her forehead.

She let out a huff as she picked up the last box, a book falling out.
She set the last one down and went back over to the book noticing what it was.

It was the journal she wrote in when she went to Florida for a brief period.

She smiled down at the journal, opening the book. Her fingers brushing against the papers, her eyes scanning her writing.

Her eyes caught on Matthew's number at the bottom. Almost instantly she ripped it out, closing the book and going over to her phone. Typing his number in.

Not sure if she should text, so she just added his contact.

He was a true friend, something Remy doesn't have. Never really did.

Was the really what she wanted? Was it the fact that she's been alone so long that the day she seen Jack, she seen a chance at changing her loneliness?

All she knew right now was that she wasn't alone, and all Jack knew was that he wasn't marrying someone he didn't truly love.

"Hey baby" Jack smiled, as he walked in. Remy was pulled out of her haze, looking at Jack and smiling back.

"Hey"

He hugged her from behind, setting his head on her shoulder.

"It's us together" he stated, kissing the crook of her neck softly.

"After so long" he trailed, trailing his hands down her sides.

Remy's hand went up to his hair playing with the ends by his neck.

"Its been too long, Remy" he said into her ear, taking her other hand and leading her to the other room.

"Way too long" Remy responded.

The relationship they continue to create and mold out of temporary feelings and internal doubt, unhealthy for them both.

But was it 'love' ?

Was it what they really wanted?

Maybe you can't force fate.
