It was bad

It was, Matt had no ill intentions of taking advantage of Remy in a drunken state of mind. But too fearful of her reaction in her sober conscience, he showed her his emotions in a way he knew she would never remember. He didn't come to ruin her marriage, nor to hurt her. But he loved her, he loved her dearly.
The same friends as they were years before, only he started to miss her friendship. The same girl who helped him move on from his troubling past and look foward to new beginnings and try new things. He adored her. And it formed into something else.

Love.

Remy's body laid scrunched up under the sheets, sleeping without interruption because Jack had not come home either. She was hungover, she probably would be feeling too ill to worry about what, where, and why Jack didn't come back home. She sat up groaning her head pounding, lipstick stains on the pillows. Remy stumbled into the living room finding Matt asleep in the living room scrunched up on their recliner. She chuckled lightly, letting out a long yawn. Remy opened the refrigerator and took out some eggs, bacon and reached up top for some toast. It's the least she could do for her more than likely hung over best friend. Her only friend as a matter of fact. No one else was here for her but him. Remy had left her mother a long time ago after a big argument they had. It's funny because the argument was actually over her and Jack. Her mother felt as if she had invested too much into Jack. Remy was devastated after their breakup. She cried nights on end, felt like her life was over. Her mother tried to get Remy to cheer up and feel better but all of Remy's anger was just let out on her mom. Remy didn't mean to hurt her feelings, she was just hurt herself.

"How sweet, you're making breakfast" Matt said, as he stretched. His voice even sounded like he still wasn't over last night. His head was instantly greeted with a migraine.

"Agggghh, my headdd" he chuckled, putting the Palm of his hand to his forehead.

"Yes I am in fact making breakfast but you, you need some soup for that hangover " Remy laughed.

"Can I have both?" Matt laughed, sliding into one of the chairs in front of the counter.

"Matt you need to eat light, you're gonna throw it all back up" Remy laughed and Matt laid his head on the counter top.

"Can I have a cup of apple juice?"

"Matt you are a 24 year old man, you don't want anything else?"

"Nope, gimme the juice" he chuckled.

"Matt what even happened last night? Literally all I know is that we got drunk off our ass and we ended up talking for hours in the car or something -"
Remy furrowed her eyebrows trying to remember what happened. All she knew is that she had the weirdest dream about him. She brushed the thought away. Matt let out a breath.

"Sooo, you got any girl you're interested in out here?" Remy asked.

Matt thought about it before he responded, yeah it was really cliche to answer in this way. But really, it was an easy way to say how he felt about her.

"Yeah actually, she's really cool. I've known her for quite some time. I just wanna ya know give her everything she deserves" but he got carried away, his eyes peering into Remy's getting more passionate about the subject.

"I wanna be her rock to lean on, I wanna show her the word. Not only fall in love with her physically but mentally. I want her to know I adore every aspect of her beauty and cherish her mind" Remy listened closely, her heart warming. She wished the actions he spoke of could be acted out by Jack but she knew better.

"Remy yesterday in the car I k-" Matt was ready to admit what went on in the car but Jack barged in. Still drunk

"Remy what is this? Why is he here? I'm my fuckin living room? Who the hell is he anyway? Forget it " He burped loudly.

He walked right pass them crushing a beer can in his hand. The sweet stench of liquor emitting off his body.

"Ugh, sorry about that Matt, but what were you going to say?"

"Nothing, I've got to get going though, thanks for breakfast love" Matt gathered his things, hugging Remy over the counter and turning to walk out.

Their feelings are inevitable. Remy had been so attached to Jack because she was so afraid of losing a relationship she built up for so long. She risked everything for it, left everything behind. She loved Jack and felt the only way to keep him around was this way. She had never experienced the true love she wanted. Time had took that from her. So her mind was stripped, torn and confused. A mental illness of heartbreak. A loss of sanity. The need for his physical attention. How do you move on from the only thing you've ever known. So afraid to open up to someone new after you've exposed so much vulnerability to one person. There is no way to truly open your heart again after the scar has permanently injured your mind. She was confused and lost in love, and Matt will shed light.
