The sound of thunder rang from the windows,

scaring a small dirty blonde haired boy. He crawled under his bed, hiding, his blue eyes appearing in the darkness, filled with tears. He heard the noise of rain as it began to get louder. He took a blanket in hand, climbing up his wall and nailing it into the wall. Suddenly, footsteps were heard. He dashed under his bed once more.

"Branch? Are you ok?" A tall woman with black hair and the same luminessant blue eyes showed in the darkness. The womans long sleeved dress shirt lay flat, except for the bottom rim, which seemed to wave out. Her short skirt hung almost to her knees, almost as wavy as her shirt rim. She wore socks, which had lacings. Her sweet and nearly hoarse voice rang gently into the boys ears as he jumped from under his bed and into his mothers arms. A few tears trickled down his red cheeks.

"Are you afraid of the thunder?" The small boy looked up, his eyes watery. He nodded, his hair beginning to fall over his face. Her mother quickly pushed it out of the way.

"Its ok..." She whispered, picking the boy up and setting him in her lap. She began to hum a sweet song, which the boy seemed to be familiar with.

"If you take my hand... And you hold on tight... We will win this fight... If you feel like you're alone in the darkness... Turn on the lights..." The boys crying died down and he hugged his mother and looked under his bed, and suddenly was overtaken by an insane feeling. Suddenly, he felt his mother being whisked away from him. Then he was alone.
