— moving to Seoul —
Jeni »
"Jeni, let's go. We're leaving now," my mother said to me as she passed some of our luggage to my father.
"Two more pages," I replied back as I continue to read my new novel, Me Before You, given to me by my best friend, Lee Haein, as a farewell gift.
"Jeni, you can read it in the car," my mother said as she grabbed the keys.
"Okay," I said with a faint sigh, not wanting her to complain about my addiction for books.
After keeping the book in my backpack, I walked out of the house and hopped into the backseat of the car with my brother, Jeno.
When I got in, I immediately tried to finish reading the two pages and kept it in my bag. I took out my earphones put them on. I decided to listen to some of Taylor Swift's songs from her 1989 album.
"What song are you listening too?" Jeno asked me.
"New Romantics," I replied and he nod.
"Can I?" Jeno asked and I gave him one of my earphones to listen to the song with me.
"Are you guys excited?" My father asked us as he began driving.
"Excited about what?" Jeno asked taking off the earphones that didn't even lasted a minute on his ear.
"About moving to Seoul," my father replied.
"I don't know," Jeno and I said in-sync.
"What do you mean you don't know?" My mother asked us and looked back. "You guys will get to live in the city! You guys should be excited."
"Well, we would if you guys would have told us earlier," I replied and stopped my music to focus on the conversation that my family were having.
"Yeah," Jeno said agreeing. "You told us last week, it's a bit too early. We're like leaving everything behind. Our friends, school-"
"Life," I said ending Jeno's sentence. "We always had a great time living here. I actually got to make some really decent classmates and I got a seat beside Haein."
"And I was finally accepted into the school's basketball team," Jeno added.
My mother sighs feeling disappointed in herself. "I'm sorry guys, but I'm sure you'll get better opportunities there," my mother said trying to convince us. "I'm sure everyone at Seoul will be just as cool as everyone here in Andong. Give Seoul a chance, you might just experience some of the best moments in your life."
Jeno and I just looked at each other and shook our head.

"Alright, guys. We are here!" My father said loudly with a smile on his face as he parked in front of our new house.
I rubbed my eyes a little and took a look outside through the car window. The house was actually not as bad as I thought. It was way bigger than our old house, and it looked very modern.
I came out of the car and took my luggage from the car boot before following my mother to the entrance.
"Alright guys, take a look around the house and you guys are allowed to choose your own rooms," my mother said with an excited voice as she opened the door.
I walked up to the door and took a deep breath before entering. This house was definitely bigger and more spacious than our previous house, and most of the furniture, here, are very modern. It was also very clean. The previous probably cleaned the house before we moved in.
