— dinner with Ten —

Jeni »

Jeno, Ten and my father didn't say a single word as they sat at the dining table. I guess my father was too embarrassed about the pillow fight - but I'm sure Ten didn't mind. He probably found it adorable or something.

I was in the kitchen helping mother preparing the food.

"I think dad's embarrassed," I said to my mother.

"Definitely," my mother replied trying not to laugh. "He looks so cute with his flustered face."

"Oh god, mum. Please don't say these kinds of stuff in front of me," I said with a cringe and took the dishes to the dining table.

When I placed the food on the dining table, it was still quiet and awkward. I then took a sit in between Ten and my father. Jeno was in front of Ten and there was an empty space between Jeno and my father for my mother.

"Eat up guys," my mother said as she placed some drinks and took her seat.

We all nod and began eating. There were only noises from our utensils and it kind of bothered me. Luckily, someone broke the silence.

"Wow, I can understand why this is Jeni's favourite dish of yours, Mrs Lee," Ten complimented my mother.

"Oh, thank you," my mother replied feeling a little shy at the sudden compliment. "I thought it would be nice if you'll get to eat Jeni's favourite dish."

"That's very thoughtful of you, Mrs Lee," Ten said with a smile and looked at me.

I looked at him and smiled back. I hope my father doesn't ask anything...

"So, Ten. I heard that you're in 2nd year of high school?" My father asked.

"Yeah, but I'm not in the same school as Jeni," Ten replied.

My father in reply and began asking some questions about Ten. Like what he likes to do, how his studies are, what are his talents - stuff like that.

Luckily, Ten managed to impress my father. When my father found out that Ten knows how to play the basketball, they began talking about basketball - and of course, Jeno joined in.

I, who had no interested in sports, didn't join in the conversation until...

"You know, Jeni used to be a ballerina?" My father suddenly brought it up.

"Oh, really? I didn't know she was a ballerina," Ten said and smirk slightly at me.

"She was and a really good one too, but because of her dedication to ballet, her examination results became bad," My father said.

"Alright, that's enough," I said loudly, cutting him not wanting to feel upset anymore.

The room suddenly went quiet. The only one who understood the situation was my mother, she knew how much ballet meant to me.

Before we came to Andong, my father allowed me to join the dance team because I passed my entrance exam with flying colours, so, he said that was his reward to me. But, at this age, it's too late to start ballet again. Plus, I don't plan on continuing dance.

"I'll be in my room," I said and quickly went to my room.

I wasn't sad or anything, but I felt frustrating. It was just...I don't know. I just didn't like talking about this or thinking about it. It's my past, is past.
