Friday, April 24th

My eyes flew open at the sound of an alarm. My first thought was, "Get the crash cart!" Joel and I both jumped up and started dragging clothes on. After a breath, we both stopped and looked at each other. I started laughing and he grinned and said, "Not the hospital...."

I snorted, "Thank God!"

He threw his shirt down and said, "In that case...." I laughed as he grabbed me and fell back onto the bed with me. There's nothing like a quickie in the morning to wake a body up... or the smoke detector for that matter.

We grabbed our clothes and snuck into the bathroom for a shower. I was rinsing my hair when he put his arms around me and said, "I need to get something off my chest."

I put my arms down to rest on top of his and said, "Ok."

He took a breath and said, "Last night..." he gave a sheepish look and continued, "and this morning... That's a first for me." He went serious and said, "I've never not used a condom."

I slowly nodded and said, "Me either... even with me being on birth control I've always used a condom...." Thinking of Jack's indiscretions I shuddered and added, "Thank God." When he said nothing else I gave him a questioning look.

He looked at me for a moment and then said, "Are you comfortable with not using a condom... with me?"

I took a minute to think about it and then said, "Yeah I actually am. I trust you and I'm on the pill... so yeah, I'm ok with it."

He grinned and said, "Ok..."

I raised my brows and said, "The real question for us isn't the trust issue though... it's if you're comfortable enough with it to rely solely on me taking birth control pills."

He took a second and then said, "I am and after last night's scare I'm actually more ok with it than I thought I'd be."

I said, "Ok."

He leaned down and kissed me. Just as we started to take it further, there was a bang on the door. We both jerked and Joel said, "What!?"

Braden said, "You've been in there for like an hour man! I gotta Pee!!"

I giggled and Joel said with a laugh, "Ok! Be out in a minute."

He gave me a quick kiss and turned off the water. We got out and dried off and dressed as fast as we could. As soon as we opened the door, Braden pushed his way in and headed straight for the toilet. Joel pushed me out and closed the door behind him.

When we got to the living room Byron and Morgan were sitting on the couch watching TV. Morgan yawned and said, "About time you guys decided to get up!"

Joel grinned and said, "I'm assuming thanks to Jana we're all up earlier than planned."

Byron laughed and said, "Damn woman can burn water!"

Jana yelled from the kitchen, "I heard that!"

Kyson walked in with a cup of coffee and Joel and I both turned towards him. He laughed and hitched a thumb towards the kitchen and said, "In there."

Morgan said, "I don't see how you guys drink that crap."

I snorted as I started walking towards the kitchen and said, "When you pull two to three doubles a week you learn to love it."

When we were in the kitchen Joel said to me, "Yeah and that's going to be stopping pretty soon by the way." I cocked a brow at him and he said, "I'm just sayin." He came up behind me and put his arms around me and said, "I can't have you all worn out and tired unless I'm the cause of it." I snorted and poured our coffee.
