Chapter 5
Bailey Humphreys
"Josh!" I exclaimed.
Tyler groaned and glared at me. "Be quiet, I'm going to sleep."
I rolled my eyes. Rude. "Where are we going?" I asked, leaning my head against the passenger seat.
"Nowhere."
I sit up straight in surprise. "Nowhere?" I asked. "What do you mean nowhere?"
I look around the car, seeing the same confused faces on my bandmates. I turn back to Josh. "I'm kidding." My shoulders relax. "We're going around sightseeing, but we're dropping our things off first."
"We could've just left our things at the hotel." Matt states. "I don't see why we have to bring clothes if we're just going to go around the city."
"We're sleeping at Tyler's house." Josh says.
My eyebrows continue to furrow. Tyler's house? I thought they lived in Ohio?
"How are we all going to fit in there?" James asked Josh.
Josh laughed. "Oh, trust me, we'll all fit."
I groaned, laying back on the seat. "Since when did he have a house in New York? I thought you lot lived in Ohio?" I asked before I could stop myself.
I clamped my mouth shut. Slick move, Bailey. Now they think you stalk them.
Tyler laughs, joining in the conversation. "Oh, you'd want to know, wouldn't you, babe?"
The hairs on my neck rose up, and I was 200% positive that my cheeks were a flaming red. "No, the billboards - the interviews! They always say that -"
"Hush," Tyler smirked. "I didn't know you were a fan."
I groaned and rolled my eyes. "No, I was a fan. I don't like you anymore."
The playful expression dropped from Tyler's face immediately. The coldness in his gaze made my stomach drop. His jaw clenched, and an unreadable emotion floated in his eyes.
What have I done?
"I don't like you, either. Shut up, and let me sleep." With that, he turned around and stuck his earphones in his ears.
A screaming silence filled the car, and I grew uncomfortable rapidly. For some reason, Tyler's words stung.
I never did like it when someone showed even the least bit of rudeness or dislike towards me, but I always managed to handle it well. I was a huge softie, and I knew it. No matter how many times I tried to pass myself off as strong and tough, I wasn't. I'm always easily deterred by the littlest words.
I bit my lip and turned to the window, and tried to sleep off my thoughts
To say that Tyler Joseph's house was huge would be a massive understatement. If there was a bigger word for huge, it'd be that, and ten times more.
I stood awkwardly beside Josh, the others behind me, as Tyler shuffled forward, umlocking the door.
I looked around, observing Tyler's modern mansion.
Panels of glass rose to the length of the mansion, providing a sense of transparency and spaciousness to the home. The in-ground lighting was packed into the fake grass and emphasized the textured exterior walls.
A section of floor sloped downwards into what I assumed was the underground parking lot, also lit by the in-ground lights.
White, black, and off-white walls stood with each other in absolute harmony. The colours didn't come off too strong; they made you feel very chilled out.
I'm glad they don't make me feel Stressed Out.

Tyler finally came around to opening the door and held it open, his arms wide in a welcoming manner. "Welcome to mi casa, or whatever."
I walk in and am immediately in awe.
The stark white walls contrasted with the dark furniture. A massive flat-screen television was mounted on the wall, next to a stunning set of speakers that provided surround-sound.
A sparkling array of awards – Grammy's, VMA's, TCA's, Nickelodeon Blimps, Platinum, Gold, and Silver certificates etc. – were displayed on the thick shelves on the adjacent wall.
A few sets of fake succulent plants lay on the window sill, and then golden figurines sat on another wall.
"Impressed, Humphreys?" Tyler smirked, leaning against an opening in the wall.
I snapped my eyes from the chandelier above and turned to him. Guess I'll have to look at those later.
"Close," I say, but my eyes are craving to stare at the eye-pleasing living room that Tyler had. "How'd you even know my last name?"
"I'm famous, I get what I want. I want to call you by your last name, so I found out." Tyler smirks before turning and walking farther into his house.
I rolled my eyes. Arrogant jerk.
We have no choice but to follow behind, so we do.
"Also, you mentioned it yesterday at the office." He said. "But the fact that I get whatever I want still remains."
We walk with Tyler and – if it was possible – I'm even more in awe than when we first came here.
Let's just say that the architect did a splendid job designing this house.
We are soon led to a hallway, oak doors on each side.
"So, here are your rooms." Tyler says boredly. "Don't mess anything up."
I frown. He seemed so ungrateful about having all of this. I could only dream of having a house half as splendid as his.
I trudged to the second door to the right, next to the room Tom had claimed. I opened the door, and it took everything not to let my jaw drop. I wasn't about to give Tyler the satisfaction again that I was impressed by his house.
I had just dropped my bag on the huge bed when Josh called out, "Hurry, we're leaving!"
