Chapter 2: The Unspoken

It's been two whole years and I haven't gotten along with Levi at all. I think it was angering him, because I would disobey his orders on purpose. I've gotten stronger and better, catching up with Anastasia, but I was mostly alone... I heard a knock on my door so I said "name and state your reason."

"Commander Erwin, business..." My eyes widen because he came to my room to discuss something with me.

I open the door letting him in and said saluting him "Sir! But why have you dropped by to discuss business with me?"

He looked down at me and said "I want to know if you're ready to take the responsibility..."

I look at him confused saying "responsibility? Responsibility of what?"

"Of being a Squad Leader."

My eyes widen and I felt my heart rate speed up, am I truly ready? "S-Sir, with all due to respect why have you come to me? I've been acting out lating against Levi, and going solo for a bit these past two years... What gave you the idea to ask me and not Anastasia, or Armin?"

"Because. It takes a real soldiers to own up to her behavior, and I know about what happened with you and Levi. Hanji told me everything, she kept a close eye on you for that and I'm glad she did. We know who want to help out and it's you."

I looked down not know what I should chose, "I can mess up... What if-"

"You can refuse this offer and let humanity fall or take it and take back what's ours" my eyes widen again and I looked up at him and remember the titan who almost had me.

I tried to get my arms free so I could escape but then he dropped me in his mouth, I heard a bang of smoke come out of nowhere and grabbed onto its slimy tongue so I won't fall down, all I could think of was everyone I'm letting down. The people who cared about me getting news that I'm dead. 

Everyone crying and yelling filled my mind! I see faces I'll never see again and then I see Anastasia, she was standing at the fire and tears falling down her cheek, she screams at the top of her lungs falling to her knees.I gripped tighter on the Titan and I said "I must fight! Fight! Fight! FIGHT!!!!!" I started climbing back up in rage! I looked at him in the eyes and said "where do I sign up?"

He grinned and said "the spark inside of you never cease to amaze me Waiters." He handed me a green hooded cloak with the freedom wings on it so I put it on. "We're having a announcement in a few on your ranking up be prepared"

I lift a brow and said "you knew I was going to say yes?"

He looked at me walking out my room and said "I knew all along, why else will you have a room all to yourself instead of in a cabin with the other cadets. I saw it in you the day you signed up you were willing to do anything, and that you did". 

I was behind the curtains waiting for him to finish his speech and bring me out because it was killing me just standing here without a rest. Then it was time... "I would like to let you know about this special someone today, she's had it in her the day signed up with full thrust..." Memories started filling my mind.

I bit my lip and ran up to the sign up to be in the 104th. I slammed my hands on the table before they left to get there attention, "I would like to sign up as well!" They looked at me surprised.

"Whats up with the look on your face? You act as if your presents being in the military will do anything"

I clenched my fist and said "I've been dreaming of this day! I want to fight for humanity to rise above all who have given up, I want to make a difference in this war. I want to end all titans!"
