"You're a disgusting, ugly, useless piece of trash."
The girl's eyes filled with tears.
"You're worthless. Nobody could ever love someone like you."
Her hands shook as she grabbed the edge of the sink for stability.
"You're nothing but a flirt. It's your fault for looking like such a tease."
Her makeup was smudged across her face, clothes messy, hair in disarray, the smell of alcohol on her breath.
"I hate you."
Glaring into the mirror, Keira spat out those three words at her reflection, expecting a reaction, but she felt nothing. She had nothing inside. Just emptiness, coldness, a lack of anything substantial.
The sounds of the party raging outside the bathroom door sounded like a siren call.
She stormed out, grabbed a random boy, and started kissing him, hoping that everything would go away, but she just felt number than ever.
