Request: preciousWonho Can I request something go along the lines of how the character has been with Nick since high school and they have an on and off again relationship and also the reader is like 2 years older than Nick . (BTW you are doing a great job:)!!!)

"Would you like some wine, Y/N?" Madison asked you. The group had decided to dock the boat on a small island for the night until you all could figure out what you were going to be doing next and where you were going exactly. There turned out to be a family here, a husband and wife named George and Melissa with their 3 kids. They had a small house that they had so kindly welcomed you into. "Oh, no. Thank you" you smiled at her. You felt a little silly turning down alcohol at 21 years old but you had never been much of a drinker. Seeing what alcohol had done to your family always made it a huge turn off for you. You scanned the living room area from your position on the couch. It was nice, with big windows that had a perfect view of the surrounding ocean and a decent amount of space to move about. Your eyes landed on Nick who was sitting on the floor across from you with Melissa's youngest son, Harry, who was trying to teach him how to play one of his video games. You smiled to yourself. Before the outbreak, you often thought about what it would be like if you and Nick were to have kids of your own one day. You always tried to push those thoughts away when they came up, however. You and Nick were complicated. You had known him since you were in high school and sometimes you two had acted like a couple, kissing and hugging and going out on dates. Other times, Nick would disappear completely to get high with his friends, ignoring your phone calls and text messages, leaving you in a constant state of worry. You were always so confused about what he felt for you, if he really felt anything at all, and it broke your heart. You excused yourself from Madison and Melissa and stepped outside to get some fresh air, mostly to clear your head from your previous thoughts of Nick. You had only been outside for a few minutes before you heard the patio door open and slide shut again. "What are you doing out here?" The familiar voice came to you like a knife to the heart. You turned to look at Nick standing behind you. Looking at him standing in the moonlight, with just a plain white t shirt on and his wavy brown hair falling just above his shoulders made your mind go blank and your heart race. It pained you that he could always have that effect on you. "Just thinking." You replied, turning back around to look out at the shore. "About?" Nick had moved to stand next to you, putting an arm around your shoulder. Sighing, you moved away from him, not wanting to feel his touch. He looked at you with furrowed eyebrows, confused as to why you were being standoffish towards him. "About us, Nick. I'm so sick and tired of this on and off thing. It's been going on for far too long and I know that this should be the least of my worries in the middle on an apocalypse but it hurts Nick. It really fucking hurts not knowing how you really feel about me." At this point, you had tears falling from your eyes. You turned your face away from Nick because you had always hated crying in front of other people and you especially didn't want him to see you in that state. "No no no. Please don't cry, Y/N." Nick moved closer to you, gently placing a hand on your shoulder, turning you around to face him. You stared down at your shoes, not wanting to look up at him in fear of crying again. "When I first met you, I knew that we were going to be something special, but when I started getting into drugs after my dad left, I didn't want you to be exposed to that kind of stuff. I pushed you away because I thought that the only way I would be able to protect you was to keep you away from me." Nick had his fingers under your chin, tilting your head up so that he could look into your eyes. "It hurt me so much not having you there, you were on my mind every second of every day. I never wanted you to think that I didn't care about you, hell, I loved you. I still love you, Y/N. I'm so sorry for being so stupid." You were at a loss for words to explain how you felt after hearing what Nick had just said to you, so you did the second best thing you could think of. You threw your arms around his neck and pulled him as close as you possibly could, pressing your lips onto his. He wrapped his arms around your waist, immediately kissing back with as much longing as you had felt all those years he was gone. "I love you too, Nick." You whispered as you pulled away from him. He just smiled at you and buried his head in the crook of your neck, placing light kisses along your collarbone. You two stood outside on the patio for what felt like eternity, content with knowing that Nick was yours and that, in a way, he always had been.
