"Okay Nick, I already said I'm sorry. What else do you want me to do?!" You raised your head out of your hands and looked up at Nick who was pacing back and forth in front of you. You were sat on the deck of the Abigail having just gotten back from a quick supply run at a plane crash sight where things had gotten pretty messy. You were all doing fine until dozens of zombies showed up, causing the others to flee and you to be surrounded. You had fought your way through the hoard with the help of Nick and Alicia and you had all made it out all right. You were still pretty shaken up about the whole ordeal, but not as shaken up as Nick was. "What I want you to do is be more careful!" He stopped pacing and turned to look at you. You had cleaned yourself up when you got back to the boat, but Nick couldn't help but notice how frail and tired you still looked. All he wanted to do was protect you in every way he could, but your stubbornness about wanting to help everyone else made it nearly impossible for him to keep an eye on you. Sighing, you got up from your seat and tried to push past Nick to leave, but his fingers caught your wrist, keeping you from going anywhere. "Y/N wait..." He started. You turned around and looked at him with a tired expression, trying to tell him you were done with this conversation but he cut you off before you could say anything. "I... I just can't lose you okay? I don't think I could survive in this world without you here with me." He confessed, sheepishly looking down at his shoes then back up at you. You stared at him for a few moments before wrapping your arms around his waist and burying your face in his neck, letting out a shaky sob. "God Nick, I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry. I never realized..." You started before he shushed you. "I know." He said as he pulled away from your embrace slightly so he could look at you. "I love you. I love you so much and I want to be with you for as long as I possibly can." You looked up at him and smiled at his words, leaning in so you could place your lips on his. You always knew you had loved this boy but we're always too nervous to admit it. Now that he revealed he felt the same way about you, you felt as if the both of you didn't have to be alone anymore, that the two of you could take on the new world together.
